Designation: Manager

Location: Gurgaon

OK with the UK shift

Business data analyst, proficient in SAS. Knowledge of credit risk.

Service Delivery / Execution

- Experience of using statistical analysis tools for large scale data manipulation and analysis e.g. SAS EG, Base SAS, SAS VA, Excel, SQL a must

- Hands on SAS EG/ SAS VA or BASE SAS knowledge with ability to perform all business user actions - this coupled with advanced excel skills including ability to write SQL/ VBA codes will be given preference

- Ability to understand and modify the implementation of a credit risk/IFRS9 model

- Ability to plan and operationalise a run book of simulations

- To perform RTB (Run-The-Bank) activities for various operating units, businesses and functions.

- Act as an SME for the processes, and deliverables of the project.

- Have a fair understanding of financial and non-financial metrics

- Work with other MI departments including change management, risk and compliance to drive various transformation projects / deliverables.

- Ensure accurate and timely data capture, validation and report production.

- Preparation of ad-hoc activities and reports (multidimensional) for various analyses.

- Involvement and participation in GFC wide initiatives like CSR, etc.

Analysis :

- Business data analysis - work with economists and analytics team to provide analysis on model inputs and outputs e.g. tasks such as trend analysis

- Ability to review and challenge the risk modelling outputs (IFRS9 in particular)

- Working closely with a range of stakeholders and othercompany's teams (i.e. risk analytics teams)

- Continuous process improvement with both detail-oriented mind and out-of-box thinking

- Prepare and present MI to senior stakeholders across various business areas

- Knowledge of Credit Risk, of accounting and/or credit risk concepts

- IFRS9, Stress testing or credit risk knowledge preferred (such as PD/LGD/EAD/ECL). Understanding of Wholesale products or experience in financial risk reporting processes would be given preference

- Knowledge of company's tools like Qlikview, Tableau etc. an advantage

- Ability to undertake in depth review of processes and products and provide a high quality analysis.

- Understanding of Finance & Risk processes at company's or a Global Bank an advantage. Knowledge of the spectrum of Global Banking & Markets products and services

Documentation:
 
- Ability to produce clear and structured documentation

- Good communication and presentation skills equipped to present to relevant functions and senior management

- PowerPoint a must and Microsoft Visio a plus

- Proven ability to take ownership and accountability -  Self Starter

- Good interpersonal skills - ability to engage with stakeholders if needed whether business or technical

- Solid and flexible team working attitude

- Focused on delivering to timelines and ability to work under pressure, providing timely progress updates

Customers / Stakeholders : 

- Engage with various stakeholders to understand the criticality and customer requirements and drive requests/ changes accordingly.

- Establish and maintain effective relationship with customers and identify areas of service improvements by implementing regular calls and feedback mechanism

- Influence and escalate key customer issues in an effective way to ensure timely resolution

- Continuous reviews of the customer issues and ensure products and services are tailored on an ongoing basis to meet expectation.

Operational Effectiveness & Control :

- Work with other departments including Change Management, Risk & Compliance to drive various transformation projects/ deliverables.

- Ensure adequate governance around Data Integrity in respect of Source Data Extraction and ETL for Financial and Non-Financial Data.

- Highlight / build appropriate Control measures to ensure accuracy in the generated dashboards

- Adherence to Group policies, audit, controls, and compliance requirements including but not limited to Declaration of secrecy, data protection act, health, safety and security, clear desk policy, mandatory trainings, etc

- Leadership & Team Work

- Effective communication with the manager on organisational change and goals

- Create an environment within the team which fosters knowledge sharing and open forums

- Develop soft skills and technical competency by enrolling in trainings.

- Cross train his/her activities and get trained in other's activities.

Skills/Experience Required: 

- Minimum 9 to 12 years of experience in a Financial/ IT environment.

- Bachelor in information technology and systems

- Alternatively, the candidate can have an accounting or business background with strong IT skills.

- Minimum 6 years of development experience in SAS, SQL, QlikView, UNIX commands (basic) or other related tools.

- Strong data management skills and ability to extract data from diverse sources as needed for ETL

- Strong SAS programming and troubleshooting skillset is highly required.

- Minimum 3 years of experience in production and/ or system support roles.

- Fair understanding of SAS VA functionalities.

- Fair idea on the implications of working with IT systems and the mitigating controls.

- Fair knowledge in using MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

- Strong logical, conceptual and analytical thinking.

- Fair knowledge in working with corporate policy requirements and compliance with it.

- Good communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to interact with multiple employee levels/business partners, etc.

- Strong relationship management skills across a diverse organization

- People management skills are an added advantage.

- Willingness to work in the flexible/ rotational shifts, extended hours/ on-call support (when needed)

- Ability to learn and be highly motivated to perform at the highest standard

- Must have excellent attention to detail and work within tight deadlines ensuring a complete and accurate flow of information's between stakeholders

- Must have experience in working under pressure, multi-tasking, and able to drive initiatives

- Must be open to change
