About Business line/Function :
Business Continuity Management (BCM) aims to improve resilience and preparedness to respond effectively to major operational disruptions which could impact business-critical operations.
This involves identifying the potential impacts of a wide variety of disruptions and planning for their mitigation. The appropriateness and effectiveness of the BCP process is validated through the BCM Program as specified by Group ITP-PPS.
Position Purpose: The Business Continuity Officer (BCO) role is designed to support the BCM Team as it executes the BCM Program. The role holder will be required to support business teams regarding BCM topics and will also be required to contribute during incidents and crises.
Responsibilities :
Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) and Business Continuity Plans (BCPs):
1. Respond to business queries and provide guidance
2. Check business submissions and chase outstanding work
3. Update content in Business Plans as required
4. Complete assigned controls, aimed at ensuring all key tasks are completed
MI and reporting:
1. Maintenance of campaign and exercise trackers and the annual MI report Everbridge automated notification tool:
a. Maintenance of contact groups for business BCP teams
b. User account management in liaison with global admin team
c. Account and password resets/troubleshooting
Exercise Program :
1. Assist in the preparation, execution & reporting of:
a. comms exercises
b. recovery user exercises
c. recovery technical exercises
d. crisis management exercises
e. IT Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises
Work Area Recovery Program:
1. Maintenance of the allocation of recovery desks / PCs to business teams
2. Monitoring / actioning issues in daily recovery desk and profile reports
3. Maintenance of the user IT recovery profiles deployment
4. Reconciliation of recovery desk requirements vs provision
Other ad hoc tasks as required:
From time to time projects and initiatives will arise as part of the BCM Program that the UK BCM Team wish to be carried out by the role incumbent; each such task will be properly explained and documented as applicable

13. No previous experience of Business Continuity Management is required for the role; the most important attributes of the role holder will be those qualities, skills and experiences listed above
