Business Analyst - Warehouse Management System

We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Management System (WMS) Business Analyst with a strong background in retail and e-commerce processes. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of warehousing, inbound logistics, and outbound logistics for both retail stores and e-commerce order fulfillment. This role is crucial for optimizing our warehousing operations and ensuring seamless integration between our systems and business processes.

Warehousing:

- Analyze and document current warehouse processes and workflows.

- Identify areas for improvement in warehousing operations and propose effective solutions.

- Collaborate with warehouse managers and staff to implement best practices.

- Ensure WMS configurations align with warehousing needs and business requirements.

- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehousing activities.

- Inventory Management: Track and manage stock levels, locations, and movements.

- Receiving and Put away: Manage the inbound process from receiving goods to placing them in storage locations.

- Order Management: Handle order processing from picking to packing and shipping.

- Shipping and Receiving: Coordinate outbound shipments and manage returns.

- Labor Management: Monitor and optimize workforce productivity.

- Slotting: Optimize the layout and storage locations within the warehouse.

- Yard Management: Control and track the movement of trailers and trucks in the yard.

- Reporting and Analytics: Generate reports and insights to drive decision-making.

- Cycle Counting: Conduct periodic counts to ensure inventory accuracy.

- Wave Planning: Batch orders for optimized picking processes.

Inbound Logistics:

- Oversee and optimize inbound logistics processes including receiving, put-away, and inventory management.

- Work closely with suppliers and logistics providers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

- Design and implement strategies for reducing inbound lead times and improving accuracy.

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage inbound scheduling and dock appointments.

- Monitor and report on inbound performance metrics.

Outbound Logistics - Retail Stores:

- Manage outbound processes for retail store fulfillment, including picking, packing, and shipping.

- Ensure efficient and accurate order processing to meet store demands.

- Collaborate with store operations to align outbound logistics with store replenishment cycles.

- Develop solutions to improve speed and accuracy in order fulfillment.

- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to retail outbound logistics.

Outbound Logistics - E-commerce Order Fulfillment:

- Optimize e-commerce order fulfillment processes to ensure timely delivery to customers.

- Implement strategies to improve order picking, packing, and shipping accuracy.

- Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to ensure optimal delivery performance.

- Enhance the WMS to support e-commerce operations, including order tracking and status updates. Monitor customer satisfaction metrics related to order fulfillment and implement improvements as needed.

Business Analysis Tools and Methodologies:

- Proficiency in business analysis tools such as wireframes, use case diagrams, and writing detailed use cases.

- Define and document acceptance criteria for various business processes.

- Use Jira and other project management tools to track progress and manage tasks.

- Work within Agile methodologies, participating in sprints, stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies.

- Ensure clear communication and documentation of requirements and changes to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

- 3-5 years of experience working with WMS, specifically within the retail and e- commerce sectors.

- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Proficiency in WMS software and other relevant technologies.

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
