Business Analyst Lead is responsible for leading the elicitation, analysis and documentation of business/technical requirements on delivery assignments. Acts as a liaison between business partners and technical team. Recognized for depth of BA discipline as well as functional domain knowledge.
Reporting relationship:
This role will report to the Delivery Manager / Senior Delivery Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead/Execute all or part of the business analysis on business features/user stories. Provide oversight when junior BAs are involved
- Responsible for gathering and understanding of business needs and translating them into effective user stories/requirements.
- Assist in the estimation, prioritization and implementation of cost-effective business process and system solutions.
- Work with Product Owner/ Business in prioritization and implementation of cost-effective business process and system solutions.
- On-boarding and mentoring BAs/new BAs into the organization.
- Proactively acquire BU domain knowledge and facilitate the growth of domain knowledge throughout the technical teams. Lead or support Knowledge management initiatives
- Develop a strong understanding of the industry & the organizational vision, mission, strategic goals
- Identify and drive business process improvement opportunities; create and share best practices across the teams to achieve process maturity
- Participate in the selection of new tools and methodologies; recommend and assist in its implementation.
- Proactively develop and impart training on completed solutions or upcoming initiatives for business partners and technical staff.
- Perform User Acceptance Testing
Education : Graduate/postgraduate Bachelor's degree (any stream)
Skill Set:
- Has good understanding of one or more domains, Strong knowledge of business analysis, business products, and IT systems. Strong analytical, problem-solving and understanding the big-picture.
- Requirements Elicitation and Analysis using Visual Modeling, Business Process Modeling, Data Modeling, UML, Use Cases, Flow Charts, Stream-line diagrams, Context Diagrams, Domain Models etc
- Working knowledge of Database features, Entities & Attributes, ERD, Data dictionary, data rules and DML operations. Ability to understand conceptual, logical and physical data models, SQL query writing involving multiple joins; set operations and sub-queries.
- Communication (Verbal and Written), Elicitation and facilitation skills, Ability to embrace and understand the change process, Issue / Escalation management, Negotiation/Decision-making skills, effective in planning, scheduling and delegation.
Other:
- Good grasp of Agile methodology, business analysis in Agile; Domain experience of Financial Services, having worked on IT related projects, Has performed Feasibility Analysis, exposure to IT Strategy Road Map assignments
