Business Analyst - Banking Holding Company Regulatory Reporting (BHCRR)
Our Client is a leading multi-national bank with office in New York. This role works directly with the NY Team.
About the Team:
The BHC Regulatory Reporting (BHCRR) is responsible for implementing application systems to support the bank's business goals while striving for the highest quality. BHCRR aims to provide extensive system support by delivering reliable application solutions.
Summary:
Following are three key functions provided by this role: (a) provide ongoing production support for assigned systems; (b) work with the business users to assess/analyze their business requirements and road-map for future needs; and (c) manage projects/initiatives while working along with internal customers as well as external vendor.
Overview of responsibilities:
In a technology-focused role, the candidate might have the following responsibilities:
- Creating, analyzing, and validating detailed functional specifications
- Delivering elements of systems design, including data migration rules, business rules, or other detailed deliverables
- Performing quality assurance
- Help design, document and maintain system processes
- Project Management / Business Analysis
- Manage projects of various sizes and scope; create project plans, specifications and other documents (such as test plans, evaluations, etc.)
- Follow the policies and procedures of the bank, including, but not limited to, Information Control Policy, the Project Promotion Procedures, System Trouble Reporting Procedures, and Production Release Approval Procedures, etc.
- Exercise good judgment and tact when applying knowledge of regulations and policies to a variety of situations
Qualifications:
Business Knowledge and Skills
- A degree in IT / Computer Science
- At least 5-8 years of prior work experience in the financial services industry;
- 1-3 years of experience in the regulatory reporting systems such as Wolters Kluwer, AxiomSL, or other regulatory reporting systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills
Technical Skills :
- Solid experience in writing complex SQL queries
- Strong knowledge of systems architecture around regulatory reporting systems
- Ability to troubleshoot technical/application problems
- Ability to analyze and document business and process flows
- Understanding of relational databases (such as MS SQL Server & Oracle)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Visio, MS Project and other office applications
Other:
- Ability to work with end users, technical staff and management as necessary.
- Needs to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong multi-tasking and analytical skills
