Job Description:  Business Analyst - Insight Miner job is to:  - Focus on collecting and analysing internal and external data to generate knowledge and value for the organization  - Provide business process decision support at the strategic, tactical and operational levels.  - Empower organizations to leverage and transform data for achieving innovative results.  - Candidate shall collaborate with business heads to define, develop and deploy automated key performance indicators (KPI) & metrics-based business scorecards to enable metrics driven decision support solutions.   - The candidate must understand business objectives/incentive, analyse key business factors driving performance & support the data strategy on an enterprise level, design solutions within data governance guidelines, and possess the excellent communication skills necessary to successfully interact with both business partners and IT delivery teams.   - The candidate will define requirements & gather/analyze relevant industry trends to develop and maintain the business unit's KPI and reporting strategy. Initiatives will also include contributing to improving, implementing and cultivating a more formal data practice across the organization.  - Perform detailed analysis and identify data and business rule trends; identify business performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to support business objectives & strategies  - Present data mining, model results and BI analysis results - Reports, Dashboards, etc.  - Prepare impact analysis, alternative design options and cost estimates for BI implementations  - Perform validation and testing of algorithms and mathematical calculations / models to ensure superior quality  - Identify data anomalies and communicate with data stewards on the impact and proposed solutions  - Pragmatically capture & maintain a BI data source catalog with qualify / relevance metadata  - Pragmatically lead the business toward strategic, enterprise focused data solutions ensuring an appropriate balance of speed, maintainability, and governance  - Develop impact analysis for database changes including BI / BO reporting solutions  - Ensure that solutions adhere to data architecture standards and strategies, and follow best practices  - Communicate data requirements to the development team and other stakeholders.  - Actively contribute to the department's IT strategy and execution by applying critical thinking and challenging the status quo  - Responsible for keeping up to date on current research, trends and best practices  Preferred Skills:  S/he will have experience working with data warehouses and/or data marts and Business Intelligence concepts, tools and technologies.  - Experience in requirements gathering and data analysis  - Full life cycle Development  - Financial or Telecom Services Industry experience  - Experience leading teams  - Data extraction and transformation rules  - Platforms (MySQL, Teradata, IBM, TM1, Netezza, DataMirror, Oracle, Essbase, GoldenGate, EMS, Greenplum)  - Create metric profiles; including: weights, targets, and thresholds  - Visualization Tools (e.g. Tableau, Cognos)  - BI Reporting Tools (e.g. Cognos, Microstrategy, SAP Business Objects, SAS, Oracle OBIEE)  - Business Intelligence Competency Centers (BICC)  - Business analytics  - "Industry" Data Models (i.e., IBM, Teradata, ADRM)  - Data Modeling, Define algorithms and mathematical calculations / models  - Technical Skills: Business intelligence analysts use complex computer programs to mine data sources and look for trends. Being able to juggle it all is crucial to the job.  The qualifications required are:  - MBA (Tier & Tier B School) with systems or operations management specialisation preferably in a B2C environment especially with direct marketing experience of 5 years.  - 2+ years of experience leading Business Intelligence design in a Financial Services or Telecom Industry  - 3+ years of experience working with enterprise reporting & analytics tools, and data testing  - Using platforms/tools such as Cognos, Oracle, SAP, Business Objects, QlikView, RoamBI or like technologies  - Leading requirement interviews with business partners, documenting business rules and system behaviors, and process modeling  - Formulating data governing policies; including: use of data, data quality, information security, and data management  - Superior written and verbal communication skills  - Ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations, strong critical thinking skills and ability to be decisive while working cooperatively with others  - Able to communicate, influence, and reason effectively with business and technical partners to deliver quality solutions to meet business objectives.  - Experience in working with consulting partners and/or working in an outsourced IT environment.  - Ability to travel as needed (minimal)
