The Project:
The Accounting Policies project is driven by changes to the following US GAAP and IFRS accounting policies:
Revenue Recognition (US GAAP ASU 2014-09 and IFRS 15
Classification & Measurement (US GAAP ASU 2016-01 and IFRS 9)
Leasing (US GAAP ASU 2016-02 and IFRS 16)
The projects aim to implement the required system and process changes to gather, process and report the required data for the accounting disclosures published in various financial statements.
Responsibilities:
- To work as a business analyst within one of the work streams of the Accounting Policies project.
- Responsible for the gathering of business requirements, documentation of the business requirements including putting forward recommendations for future solutions, where required
- Preparation of functional specifications and use cases for the delivery of the business requirements
- Preparation of test plans, test cases, coordinating with users and IT during the testing phase
- Preparation of the documentation and steps for deployment, including user training where required
Essential
- Basic Degree in Finance / Accounting / IT
- Experience in accounting, or has a good understanding of financial accounting and has worked extensively with users in this area
- Experience in problem solving with end users
- Strong analytical skills
- PeopleSoft GL experience
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organisation skills
- Has initiative and is pro-active
- Good presentation/documentation skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Experience working in global setups
Desirable
- PeopleSoft certifications
- MBA(Finance)/CA/ICWA/CPA/ACCA
