Job Family: Project Management   Discipline: Project Management  Purpose Of Role:  - First level role, with specific project management/delivery, responsibility for planning and co-ordinating small scale projects for WAN/LAN  - Delivers a contracted of work on time, within budget, enabling the expected business benefit and to the client's satisfaction, managing issues, risks and dependencies successfully along the way.  - Will be typically responsible for one or more deliverables, including the financial impact for owned elements (e.g. a milestone/subproject/work-stream leader within a bigger project)of projects, and expected to be accountable for those elements of the projects. Stakeholder and Client relationships are short term and are specific to project needs. Some limited interface with 3rd party suppliers, which may involve ensuring timeliness and quality of deliverables.  Key Responsibilities:  - Able to deliver deliverable to time, cost & quality.  - Able to deliver benefit to customer satisfaction.  - Able to estimate project activities.  - Able to create & maintain project plans.  - Able to manage risks, issues & dependencies.  - Able to monitor & control standard complexity projects.  - Able to drive user acceptance testing and handover to operations.  - Able to chair project meetings, involving clients & suppliers.  - Able to manage a team of professionals, and to set their objectives.  - Able to deal with stakeholders, customers and suppliers, specific to project needs.  - Able to build and maintain internal and external relationships to assist current and future delivery.  - Has sound understanding of concepts and principles in project management   - Operates in a learning context with guidance from project sponsors and more senior project personnel but requires minimal supervision. Expected to escalate issues, which have exceeded the expected project boundaries, to the appropriate higher authority.  - Has developed communication and diplomacy skills used to persuade and influence with a growing ability to engage and inspire clients at peer level. May also share issues and work on solutions with external consultants.  Authority/Decision Making:  - Limited autonomy to decide the achievement of all project needs, as all elements should be driven by precedence or approval of more senior Project Managers.  Qualifications:  - Experience of project delivery and relationship management as defined by the needs of the business, including customer, project team, project suppliers and other affected parties.  - Demonstrable record of resolving issues that threatened to delay or seriously disrupt the project goals   - Prince2 foundation or PMP, ITIL  - Technical certification preferred (CCNA, CCNP, ACA, Security etc)  Skills/Experience:  - Will have at least 7+ years relevant experience of project delivery (i.e. project leadership, responsibility and accountability).   - Typically has experience of owning many smaller projects over a number of years. Good record of delivering against pre determined requirements, often in reasonable timescales.  - Familiar with, but not necessarily accredited in, a formal Project Management methodology such as Prince Foundation, 6 Sigma or APMP. Has received formal training and can apply the knowledge to specific project circumstances with coaching and direction from more senior project personnel.   Technical:-  - Delivered Projects and Programs for High Volume MPLS across the globe  - Delivered Projects and Programs with LAN and IP Telephony integration(Cisco or Avaya).  - Delivered Projects and Programs with integration of Security( Firewalls, VPN clients, Internet Gateways).  - Delivered Projects and Programs with CRM integration( Cisco IPCC or Avaya) along with Nice, Variant .  Project Management Skills  Change Control: Has awareness of the concepts and principles of change control, and its role in managing programme and project performance. Is familiar with basic supporting activities - i.e. logging change requests, tracking evaluation and agreed changes, and updating of project baselines and the related linkage through to configuration updates - and under supervision in at least one project has undertaken such activities.  Configuration Management: Has awareness of the concepts and principles of configuration management, and its role in managing programme and project performance. Is familiar with basic supporting activities - i.e. logging, tracking and reporting of deliverable components, and related control of changes - and under supervision in at least one project has undertaken such activities  Governance: Has awareness of the concepts and principles for creating effective organisational arrangements for the direction and management of programmes and projects. Under supervision, has been able, in least one project, to conduct basic activities to support the establishment of effective governance arrangements - including the identification of: organisational units who will provide resources; of interfaces between the programme, project and business as usual; and, of the requirements for programme or project offices.  Issue Management :With minimum supervision, able to manage and lead issue management activities, either independently or through a team (often including suppliers and/or customers), and has done so in more than two programmes or complex projects.   Able to assess severity, and to prioritise and take resolving actions or escalate as necessary. Is able to operate issue management processes, together with supporting data structures and tools, in line with business needs.  Planning and Scheduling :With minimum supervision, able to manage and lead planning and scheduling activities, either independently or through a team (often including suppliers and/or customers), and has done so in more than two programmes or complex projects.   Able to refine the management plan with clear guidelines on governance, lifecycle/approach and management controls (including review/gateway points), tools and techniques, and to agree clear tolerances with sponsors, and implement appropriate escalation processes. Can bring together all aspects of planning (quality, communications, resources, technical plans) within the management plan. Can operate all planning and scheduling processes, maintaining the schedule with respect to changes, together with supporting data structures and tools, in line with business needs.  Risk Management With minimum supervision, able to manage and lead risk management activities, either independently or through a team (often including suppliers and/or customers), and has done so in more than two programmes or complex projects. Able to assess impact and probability, to make contingency plans and to prioritise and take mitigation actions.   Can facilitate risk workshops and use other techniques in support of risk management. Is able to operate risk management processes, together with supporting data structures and tools, in line with business needs  Supplier Management : Has awareness of the concepts and use of supplier management policies, procedures and techniques through the lifecycle of programmes and projects. Under supervision, has conducted basic supplier management in at least one project, including working with at least one external supplier, supporting price negotiations, and has evaluated 3rd party products against specifications for functionality/cost.   Able to establish a relationship with a vendor/supplier with the goal of the realisation of benefits to BT through work with that vendor/supplier. Understands best practice and looks to actively use knowledge learned from relationships held by other individuals.
