About the role:

- You will work closely with the Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh to build a comprehensive and sustainable expansion strategy for establishing private schools in the state. As

- Development Director, you will manage four verticals under your portfolio:

- Development Strategy (identifying viable real estate options for acquisition, lease, or purchase) critical thinking to take this forward

- Real Estate Management (managing the real estate process - legal review, lease/property management, upkeep)

- Physical Planning (structural certification, building evaluation, architectural drawings, building permits)

- Construction (all aspects of physical construction, alterations, and repairs)

Your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering land at very low cost, securing planning approvals in 2 weeks, constructing and kitting an 8-11 classroom school in 1 month. You will be figuring out how to drive this all across Andhra Pradesh.

- Managing managers and setting them up for success through coaching and empowerment but digs into the weeds when a manager is flailing and personally help solve the problem and set a new pathway to success.

- You'll be enabling children from low-income families to access world-class basic education, democratizing the right to succeed and alleviate poverty.


- This is one of the biggest problems of developing economies, where trillions of dollars have had little effect, and thousands of initiatives have failed to change the systematic failure to provide children living in poverty with high-quality education.

Must haves/absolute deal breakers:

- 10+ years of work experience of partnerships and business development

- You have managed projects for expansion of physical footprints

- You have exposure to the real estate market sector

Preferences/nice to haves:

- You can speak in Telugu

- You have the knowledge of governance of schools under the right to education act

- You know how to get schools registered and licensed

- You have worked in a business expansion role with a chain of K-12 schools. eg Mount Litera, GEMS Education, Ravindra Bharati, Chaitanya Bharathi.
