Job Description:
1. Conduct in-depth research to identify major changes in a company's business, including factors such as initial indications from calls or presentations, sector trends, policy changes, or shifts in the business cycle.
2. Identify investment opportunities, conduct thorough analysis, validate findings with domain experts as needed, and present compelling investment theses to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) with a high level of conviction.
3. Contribute to the development of a streamlined and impactful investment tracking system, adhering to the established processes rigorously.
4. Monitor invested companies according to predetermined success metrics defined at the time of investment or during the last review, maintaining comprehensive records and engaging in regular discussions with the CIO at predefined intervals.
5. Engage in investor presentations, whether with companies or at conferences, to identify promising investment ideas, present findings confidently with relevant data, and conduct further due diligence including domain validation to convert ideas into investment theses for approval by the CIO.
6. Stay abreast of thematic changes in the market through reports or other sources, sharing insights with the CIO and team members to ensure active participation in evolving opportunities with a high degree of conviction.
Qualifications:
1. Prefer Chartered Accountant or Masters degree in Finance, economics, or related field
2. Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough research and financial analysis.
3. Excellent communication skills to present investment theses effectively to senior management.
4. Prior experience of 6-7 years in buy side equity research or investment analysis is highly desirable.
5. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating initiative and independent thinking.
6. Knowledge of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and industry trends.Well versed in applying industry databases
