Job Title : Brand/Product Manager - Nutraceuticals


Reporting to : Business Head/Head of Mktg(CPD)

USV started as a joint venture between USV & P inc (a subsidiary of Revlon US) more than 5 decades ago and today it ranks among leading healthcare companies in India and its products ( including Active pharmaceutical ingredients, Peptides, injectable etc.) are marketed in 75 countries around the world.

Today USV has a modest presence in FMCG division mainly into baby and personal care (through licensing agreement with a German company Sebamed), it has aspirations to build a robust FMCG business in next 5 years, by introducing range of new products/ categories and drive exponential growth through a mix of organic & inorganic routes.


As part of this plan USV is setting up a new Nutraceuticals business within the ambit of Consumer products Division. Currently the product scope includes multi vitamins which will further expand into other segments/ categories within well-being space.


Role Purpose :


- We are looking for a dynamic personality with strong marketing foundations and in market execution experience with world class consumer facing organizations/ brands.


- Someone who feels excited about the opportunity of building a business from scratch and willing to put that extra effort in working on-ground with teams, processes and framework to drive growth.


- A right fit for this role is someone who had conceptualized a brand from scratch or restaged an existing brand in an FMCG/OTC set up.


- In addition have strong exposure to new product introductions and media planning.


- He/she needs to be hands-on particularly with new-age digital media including social and performance.


- This role is pivotal in shaping and achieving long term business objectives of Nutraceuticals business division.


- Entrepreneurial driven strategic thinking and ability to lead and drive Marketing function with a go getter mind set to drive 10 X growth.


- The role requires deep understanding of business fundamentals with a strong ability for outcome-based execution and ability to build brands.


- The role requires strong people orientation and administration skills who will work with different cross-functional teams to launch media campaigns and NPD projects.


Key Responsibilities :


Scope :


A. Financial :


- Revenue/Budget of the portfolio of Brands


- Profits


- Assets (Physical and IP)


B. Non-Financial :


- Manage project timelines for media and Product launches


- Geography : India


Authority and Resources :


- Coordinate with other departments within organization and seek approval for projects within the group rules and maximize returns on investment.


Performance Measures and Outcomes Expected :


- Budget


- As per KPIs defined for the role


Key Responsibility Areas :


Brand Strategies :


- Assist Marketing Head in creating Brand Maps for all the portfolio of Brands


- Work in close coordination with the Creative Agency to ensure creatives are based on the Brand Strategy to evolve a 360 Degree Approach for each Campaign Idea across channels like TV, Press, Radio, OOH, Internet and Mobile.


- Drive new-age digital marketing strategies/ social-media marketing


Brand Execution & Promotional Tools :


- Ensuring a 360-degree approach


- Drive execution as per the approved marketing calendar


- Audio-visuals, POS, Stands, Demo Kits, Premiums, Literature, Website etc.


- Timely and optimal supplies to the field


Media Planning :


- Work with Marketing Head in creating a Media Strategy in line with the Brand Strategy with inputs from the Media Agency.


- Setting correct Media Objectives for each campaign and ensuring high media visibility.


Packaging :


- Benchmark the latest in packaging with the industry and beyond


- Ensure that the packaging is in line with the brand map


- Ensure that the packaging is within Legal & Regulatory Norms


Trade Marketing :


- Provide direction on Distribution, Display, Promotion & Price across Channels ( Retailer, Distributor, MFR,E com)


- Build Framework for Channel partner engagement & incentive program


- Support on Ground activations / Road shows


Marketing Research :


- Commission Research Projects to understand consumer behavior and finding solutions for Marketing Problems


- Track Brand Health


- Evaluating the success of each campaign


- Qualitative and Quantitative Research on Customers (both Consumer and Trade)


Customer Relationship Management :


- Building a CRM program involving :


a. End consumers


b. Influencers


c. Facilitators


Budgeting :


- Freezing the A&SP budget in line with the Brand Strategy at the start of the year.


- Ensure that the A&SP spend for the division is within the budget


- Ensure that the agency bills are cleared as per norms.


People Management :


- Create a positive environment where all employees in the Business Unit can excel.


- Ensure all staff are equipped, trained, qualified, motivated, developed and empowered to provide high levels of people satisfaction and engagement.


Minimum Educational and / or Training Qualifications and Certificates :


- MBA from premium institutes in India or abroad.


Preferred Experience and Knowledge (number of years, type of experience) :


- Total years of experience : 5-6 yrs of experience in Sales & Marketing with at-least 3+ years in Marketing function of leading consumer facing or OTC organizations.


- Has managed a project from concept to go live
