Job Title : Brand Manager - Notebooks Reporting
Marketing Manager, ESPB
Function : MARKETING
Location : ESPB HQ, Chennai
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB :
- To create brand, portfolio and marketing strategies and lead the implementation to deliver brand health objectives for the Notebook Category
KEY FOCUS AREAS :
- Develop brand marketing plans across consumer segments in line with the business strategy
- Provide a vision of the market environment through research as a basis on which to set marketing strategies
- Strategize all brand activity to ensure that it is in line with brand strategy and corporate guidelines
- Improve brand profitability through cost control, pricing and other relevant actions
- Champion innovation in products and processes in order to achieve competitive advantage
- Communicate and ensure application of best practices in brand management to optimise efficiency and effectiveness
Principal Accountabilities :
Define Marketing objectives and create the annual marketing plan in line with the business strategy :
- Keep abreast with the Category and business environment which assists in defining challenging marketing objectives
- Work closely with Trade Marketing and Operations to ensure agreement with the annual marketing plan
Provide a vision of the market environment through research as a basis on which to set marketing strategies :
- Commission research and analyze the same to develop actionable consumer and customer insights
- Develop systems to gather market intelligence on competitive activity for proactive response
Strategize all brand activity to ensure that it is in line with brand strategy and corporate guidelines :
- Devise appropriate BTL activity to ensure fit with brand strategy and guidelines
- Devise ATL activity to achieve desired brand saliency and awareness levels amongst target consumers
- Devise Communication strategy to provide product knowledge to the Trade Marketing team to improve selling effort
- Liaison with relevant functions/managers on Brand propriety and legal issues
Improve brand profitability through cost control, pricing and other relevant actions :
- Improve profitability of the current range with higher value capture for business through
- Modifications in existing products
- Launch of new SKUs, including new to market SKUs
Champion innovation in products and processes in order to achieve competitive advantage :
- Competitive benchmarking for each SKU in the product categories
- Employ innovation in products and processes in order to achieve competitive advantage
Statutory Compliance and Code of Conduct :
- Adherence to company code of conduct
- Confirmation to all financial and administrative systems
- Compliance with all statutory and regulatory norms

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :
- MBA in Marketing (IIMs / FMS / XLRI / ISB / NMIMS / SP Jain / JBIMS / MDI)
- 2008-2011 Batches
- At least 3 years in a marketing role, preferably in the FMCG space
- Current role to be in marketing
