Designation: Category Manager
Location: Mumbai
Reports to: CXO
Job Description:
- The Category Manager will be responsible for the growth and brand creation of the Pants category within the portfolio of brands. Depending on performance, this could go on to include other categories as well. The role is cross functional it involves being the point person between Marketing, Technology & Product, Supply Chain, Store Operations and various other functions within the company.
The Category Manager will have P&L responsibility.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
1. Merchandising Operations
a. Follow trends, styling, competition
b. Translate to Design Team in order to help finalize the SKU mix
c. Assist the Supply Chain team in sourcing raw materials
d. Oversee a junior merchandiser set up the products in the system
2. Marketing
a. Plan the weekly shoot mix, work with photographer and marketing on styling the shoot
b. Social media calendars for the brand
c. Events and collaborations for the brand
3. Visual Merchandising
a. Work with Graphics team on creatives for the website
b. Online and Store Merchandising decide what goes on racks in stores as well as on website
c. Training of Store staff on all products and measurements
4. Supply Chain
a. Oversee the production team on sample making for shoots and display at stores
b. Monitor the late report / production report for orders within the category
c. Develop relationships with the factories and develop new ones
5. Analysis
a. Track the sales and data for across various channels
b. Track alterations
c. Monitor customer feedback and repeat rates and arrive at actionable inferences from the same.
Requirements:
- Preferably an MBA for a top-tier university
- Experience or interest in fashion
- Demonstrated experience working towards growing a brand in the consumer space
- Ability to manage a P&L for a division
- Self-starter who can take initiative
