Job Title: Chief Technology Officer

2. Organizational Relationships
Reporting to: CEO - BLS
Number of Direct Reports: As per the final organization chart
3. Job Purpose :
- Design and drive the IT strategy for the core business in BLS line of outsourcing of technology enabled services.
- Oversee the conceptualization and overall administration of the IT systems and infrastructure, formulation of IT security and usage policies.
- Review of the performance of the existing IT applications and identification of suitable upgrades, to support BLSs business objectives.
- Drive innovation by channelizing investments and resources towards creating differentiation in technology offering
4. Key Roles & Responsibilities :
Strategic and financial :
1. Provide IT strategic direction for BLS and shape the technical vision of the product portfolio, by providing insights on industry, competition and emerging global practices
2. Conduct ROI analysis for IT spending and initiatives-and drive business case justifications for IT spending
3. Be actively involved in the preparation of technology led bids for future business prospects; prepare winning proposals from a technology point of view
4. Create a technology roadmap, with a clear distinction on when/what to build/ buy
5. Plan and manage budgets to maximize strategic investments and increase efficiency & efficacy of the IT team
6. Create new products for expansion of product portfolio from an IT design and implementation perspective and prepare approach papers/ thought leadership on what products can be added
7. Proactively identify security threats, formulate strategies and methods to mitigate the threats
8. Continuously bring in innovation that can create differentiation for BLS in the way they run business compared to the competition
Stakeholder :
9. Conceptualize, guide and monitor IT solutions required to meet overall objectives and interact with other functional heads to understand the IT requirements from user departments
10. Partner with the leadership to develop a solid understanding of the business environment to design & deliver targeted solutions
11. Use stakeholder feedback to make necessary improvements and adjustments to the technology infrastructure at BLS and strive to keep the leadership updated on all recent development in the sector that has relevance to BLS.
Operational :
12. In case of new projects/ bid wins, plan and implement the technology infrastructure from a financial, technological and market perspective
13. Drive formulation of disaster recovery, IT security and usage policy for BLS, and ensure their periodic audits
14. Continuously strive to build a robust ecosystem that is enabled with the most recent development in the ITT ecosystem.
15. Identify niche players/strategy for M&A that would provide a quantum jump in enabling BLS to grow its revenue in the current fields and also provide eligibility to have a first movers advantage in the emerging areas.
16. Ensure that all required compliances as per law, standards, regulations that are followed, are met consistently and continuously
17. Ensure appropriate and timely documentation related to the application, code with third party vendors etc.
18. Ensure standardization of IT systems and IT infrastructure to promote smooth functioning of business across multiple locations
19. Ensure availability and uptime of core applications, requisite communication facilities telecommunication, videoconferencing, internet, email, etc. across locations
20. Drive ERP implementation, if required in the organization and ensure streamlining of business processes and improved cycle time for business operations
21. Define SLAs for application uptime and ensure compliance through minimum downtime of systems
22. Drive a business continuity plan for the organizations IT infrastructure
People :
23. Drive the IT department framework, in terms of departmental roles and responsibilities, departmental structures and inter-dependencies with other departments
24. Facilitate capability building in identified new technology areas by providing functional guidance; identifying appropriate training programs and infrastructure requirements
25. Drive a culture of continuous improvement, learning and active talent engagement
26. Infuse a sense of ownership & pride amongst team members to deliver high-quality work output

a. System implementation (including installation, user creation, configuration, etc.)

7. Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications:
- BE/B.Tech/M.B.A with relevant certifications
- Post-graduation in IT or related field
Preferred Experience:
- 15+ years of similar experience preferably with a firm having a multinational presence
- Strong executive presence in an industry/firm working in a dynamic environment
- Knowledge and experience in implementation of various industry standards like ISO, GDPR, etc.
