Role Description:

- This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Manager Legal/Deputy Manager at Birla Corporation Ltd. located in the Kolkata metropolitan area.

- The Assistant Manager Legal/Deputy Manager would be responsible for leading the legal team's operations and providing legal advice and support to the company in various areas of law, including business transactions, contracts, labour law, litigation, and regulatory compliance.

- The Assistant Manager Legal/Deputy Manager would also be responsible for managing and mentoring the legal team, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and liaising with external legal services, as necessary, to help drive business objectives.

- Assisting Line Managers in all matters related to Legal Support to HO's Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR& IR, Logistics & Purchase;

- Working on mines, mineral, environment laws & land laws;

- Supporting New Business Line in streamlining the business and stay complied;

- Drafting Agreements; purchase orders, bank guarantees, petitions, applications; replies to demand/show-cause notices, bid documents etc.

- Assisting Line Managers in Litigation Management & coordinating with advocates on matters pertaining to recovery, Consumer Forums & other matters;

- Assisting in IPR Management & regular Trademark related work;

- Assisting in implementation of Statutory Compliances & ensuring compliances at various plants;

- Working on industrial and labour laws;

- Provide support in mining Laws and other related issues;

- Collaborating with team on various ongoing issues as and when required.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Law.

- Masters in Law.

- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a similar legal role in a company, preferably Manufacturing.

- Excellent understanding of Mining laws, corporate laws, Labour laws, and compliances.

Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively lead and manage the legal team.

- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines with attention to detail.

- Excellent Drafting Skill.

- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

- Proven track record of providing sound legal advice and counsel to clients.

- Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills
