BI Solution Architect - DW

BI Solution Architect for large DW/BI implementations.

10+ years of demonstrated experience with industry leading BI/ETL tools like IBM Cognos and Informatica.

Ability to architect an end to end DWBI framework inclusive of Data Model, ETL and Reporting.

Functional Expertise:-

- Should have at least 6 years of proven experience in BI/DW as an Architect providing strategic research, recommendations and implementations.

- Should have at least 4 years of design and development experience in either Informatica, Cognos or both.

- High proficiency of design including HLD and LLD contributing to ETL, data model design for datamart/datawarehouse, meta-data modeling for reporting.

- Drive creation of reusable components, frameworks and models from executed BI projects

- SME of design and development processes and methodology. Knowledge of BI best practices and process.

- Estimate Early, post requirement and design.

- Experience of working on agile/iterative development methodology.

- Performance Tuning / Capacity Planning for BI projects.

Technology and Framework

Experience in Cognos 8.4/10.1 Framework Manager, PowerPlay Transformer, Report Studio, Query Studio, Analysis Studio.

ETL : Experience in Informatica v 7 & above

Data Modeling : Experience in building data model for large data- warehouses/data-marts and building Meta-Data Models on them

SQL : Excellent knowledge of SQL/PL SQL. Performance tuning of queries using explain plans.

App/Web Server: Know how of Web Sphere 6.x, Tomcat Java Server, Apache Web Server

Databases: DB2 Unix/xOS, ISAS.

Knowledge of Java, JSP, XML, Unix Shell Scripting.
