We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Category Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a diverse product category, overseeing the sales team, and driving strategic initiatives that enhance our market presence. You will play a pivotal role in product launches, vendor management, and ensuring alignment between demand and supply.
Key Responsibilities:
- P/L Management: Oversee the profit and loss statements for your category, ensuring financial targets are met and exceeded.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a sales team of at least 15 members, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
- Product Launches: Lead the end-to-end process of new category or product launches, from concept to execution.
- Vendor Management: Onboard and maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring alignment with our business objectives and quality standards.
- Demand and Supply Analysis: Understand market dynamics to optimize inventory levels and ensure product availability.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrate quick learning abilities and on-the-spot problem-solving skills to address challenges as they arise.
- Goal Achievement: Set, track, and achieve departmental goals with authority, driving results through effective planning and execution.
- Project Ownership: Take full ownership of projects within your category, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget.
- B2C Focus: Implement strategies that enhance customer experience and drive consumer engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 7-8 years of experience in category management, sales strategy, or a related role, preferably in the wedding or events industry.
- Understand the customer need analysis and market analysis very well
- Must have P/L handling experience.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
- You should have worked in a startup / have seen a small company become a large company (50 employee team to 500 employees).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for customer service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be willing to work on weekends (1 weekday rotational off).
Preferred Experience: 4-8 years of owning P/L of a category
