Better - Senior Data Analyst

About the Role:

At Better data is at the core of how we solve problems, define strategy, and unlock operational excellence. We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our Insights & Strategy Team, where you will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive business impact through data.

This role offers a unique opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the company's Product and operations, work hand-in-hand with Product and Operations teams, and shape the downstream data architecture that powers critical decision-making. You'll be responsible for identifying strategic improvement areas, defining and maintaining business KPIs, and supporting high-impact analyses including scenario modeling and A/B testing.

Key Responsibilities:

- Partner with Product and Operations stakeholders to uncover business needs and translate them into analytical frameworks.

- Design and maintain the downstream data architecture to ensure robust, scalable analytics and reporting infrastructure.

- Define, monitor, and refine key business KPIs to measure success and guide strategic direction.

- Develop and execute a target search space to proactively identify opportunities for process optimization and operational efficiency.

- Conduct scenario testing, A/B experiments, and ad hoc deep-dive analyses to guide data-driven decisions.

- Create clear and actionable insights through data visualization tools and storytelling.

- Serve as a thought partner in strategy discussions by bringing a strong analytical point of view to business challenges.

Qualifications:

- 3+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related role in a high-growth or fast-paced environment.

- Background in economics, statistics, engineering, or a related quantitative field from Tier 1 universities.

- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python.

- Experience working with large, complex datasets across relational databases and unstructured data.

- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or equivalent.

- Comfort with experimentation techniques, statistical analysis, and scenario modeling.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to independently prioritize and execute in a dynamic environment.

- Ability to balance the day-to-day data analysis requirements with urgent ad hoc request

Bonus:

- Experience in FinTech, lending, or other data-rich regulated industries.

- Working knowledge of Machine Learning
