Job Responsibilities
- Process payroll including required and voluntary deductions and variable inputs
- Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.
- Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures
- Complies with income tax law, Labour law state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new
legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Maintains payroll staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains payroll staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Maintains payroll information by designing systems; directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data.
- Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, deductions, income tax liabilities
- Pays employees via issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts on monthly basis
- Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave,gratuity
- Managing Income tax declarations and proof of Investment submission by employees as per Income tax law
- Managing Employee help desk for payroll and income tax related issues
Requirement
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- 6 - 8 years of experience working with MNC in Payroll accounting profile
- Should have strong analytical and decision making skills
- Familiarity with Grey HR and Workday implementation would be an added advantage
- Good understanding of TDS, Employee Income Tax Slabs, Exemptions, and deductions available under different sections of Income Tax Law
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting within different departments, cross function and management team.
