The Role :
Better.com seeks a Finance Manager to be a key member supporting the India/US team. As Finance Manager, you will work closely with business leaders to develop accounting and analytical insights to assist in evaluating new business concepts, turning insights into operational measurements, and identifying paths to improve the overall planning and forecasting process.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead short- and long-term planning for the team
- Work along the team for process improvements and automation
- Present Financial analysis to the stakeholders
- Tighten internal controls for program spending accrual
- The successful candidate will have shown experiences in past roles influencing business owners and supporting decision-making in rapidly evolving environments. This role requires a self-starterwith strong modelling skills, a keen attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects effectively. This role also has regular interaction with executives and various business units across Better.com and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities :
- Manages Accounts Payable which includes Vendor Relations, Invoicing, checking disbursements, 1099 and tax related matters
- Manages accounting functions including maintenance of general ledger, accounts payable, and project accounting; ensures accuracy and timelines
- Manages monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information;ensures accuracy of financial statement
- Manages and supervises the accounts payable department and staff in the organization
- Keep track of the company's financial expenditures, maintain a database and provide reports
- Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines
- Provides accounting assistance to project managers and operations staff; responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs
- Trains and evaluates employees to enhance their performance, development, and work product
Basic Qualifications :
- Bachelor's / Master's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Experience 7-8 years of experience working with MNC, US based company
- Experience working with generally accepted accounting principles and accounting software
- Must have ERP AP system experience
- Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
Preferred Qualifications :
- Ability to lead teams in a cross-functional setting
- Advanced modelling skills including advanced Excel skills
- Excellent business judgment, including strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in an energetic, fast-pacedenvironment
- Comfort with ambiguity and creative problem-solving
- Highly innovative and flexible; ability to work with autonomy
