Responsibilities
- Use advanced working experience of SQL to write optimized queries
- Independently create impactful presentations via Google suite of products or dashboards via Looker
- Draft responses to time-sensitive data requests from team members that are accurate, digestible, and easy to understand
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineering, product and business teams outside of the analytics team
- Maintain code to good standards i.e. commenting/documentation
- Help debug and optimize other team members' code and queries
- Interview and onboard new members to the team when necessary
- Mentor and train junior team members and share effective feedback
Must have
Technical Skills
- Expert SQL skills
- Working knowledge of Python, libraries such as pandas, numpy, plotly
- Demonstrated experience using BI tools like Tableau, Qlikview, Power BI, Looker (preferred) etc.
- 2-4 years of industry experience in a data science or analytics role
- Degree from a highly-competitive academic institution in quantitative field: statistics, economics, applied math, operations research or engineering.
- Previous experience working with very large datasets across multiple databases in startup environment or large commercial institution
- Advanced analytical and Excel skills required to understand, manage, and assess large data sets, including the ability to interpret results
