Head Transportation
The Head of Transportation role is a Profit Centre for the complete Transport vertical of BSCPL Organization. This individual will oversee acquisition of new accounts and expansion of business within current accounts, as well as ensuring account profitability and high client service levels. This requires working closely and coordinating with the Operations side of the business. The ability to quickly establish trust and build long-term executive level relationships with clients is absolutely critical to this position. Given the international nature of BSCPL's business, they will also need to work closely with the other regions
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Client Relationship Management
- Develop a - trusted advisor- relationship with key executive decision makers
- Provide executive leadership in sales cycles - from prospecting to pricing to closing
- Effectively orchestrate regional and global BSCPL resources (solution experts, industry experts, IT, operations, executives) to support sales teams in developing accounts
- Participate and lead sales and client planning meetings
- Effectively handle client bids and negotiations
- Elevate discussions to establish strategic partnerships with clients
- Bring leading practices and new ideas to client executives (capture mindshare)
- Elicit client feedback to help guide future product and service direction
- Maximize cross-selling by providing strategic input to assist related accounts
- Lead resolution of critical client issues
- Work closely with Operations to deliver high level of service to clients
- Organize client forums and industry events to market BSCPL
Sales Planning
- Develop regional sales strategy which ties into overall corporate goals
- Effectively lead and manage resources to deliver on that strategy
- Support sales teams in identifying and developing account and opportunity strategies
- Provide timely and accurate revenue and profitability forecasts
- Proactively identify industry and economic trends that can impact BSCPL's business
- Identify all potential risks and develop mitigation plan
- Develop relevant internal and external metrics to measure the sale organization's performance
- Communicate sales plans and status to management
Knowledge Management
- Standardize sales processes and enforce use of best practices and systems
- Motivate team to contribute to knowledge repositories
- Keep abreast of regional and industry vertical developments
- Help BSCPL capture mindshare by marketing/speaking at events
- Actively contribute to expanding company knowledge base
- Contribute to corporate projects
Job Description:

- Develop local transportation business specifically Milk run and JIT transportation.
- Develop long haul transportation business.
- Coordination with vendor/truck owners/driver for timely placement of quality trucks.
- Ensure KPI, safety and Quality compliance.
- Participating in review meeting with client.
- Develop strong sales pipeline
- Develop vendor network.
- handle fleet management
- Diesel / Fuel Calculation,
- verify vehicles maintenance bills,
- handle transport management, cost control,
- operating computer.
- Handling PAN India Logistics & Transport.
- Having 35 depots currently pan India.
- Responsible for negotiating rates and contracts with transporters & service
Providers
- Expand Links with contractors in order to remain competitive and enhance the services to customers.
- Maintained a professional relationship with outside representatives
- Monitored and managed drivers performance and set KPIs accordingly.
- Effectively managed supply chain to reduce impact on working capital.
- Conducted management & resolution of all Supply Chain strategic and operational issues on a daily basis.
- Established and Maintained Budget for Transport and Warehouse Department.

- Negotiating with vendors to ensure constant supply of vehicles.
- Operations include plant logistics, stores & assembly line feeding, JIT warehouses, spares warehousing, inter plant trucking, transportation, distribution of parts through bulk haul, express cargo transportation.
Analyze and redesign the route structure nationally to ensure more effective utilization of resources thus saving time and improving performance. Candidate from 3PL background having good exposure to Northern Indian region. minimum 12 year of experience. Excellent Freight & team management
EDUCATION:-
- Graduate in any discipline preferably Bachelors or Masters Degree preferably in Business
Administration. KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 12 to 15 years of experience in sales and operation in transportation. Experience in Transportation, Fleet operation,
- Exposure of Automobile Industry/Logistics or the transportation is must.
- Should have managed truck vendors, driver, and vehicle breakdown assistance. Should know how to increase vehicle utilisation and optimum space utilisation.
- Should know milk run business and route planning. Should know SLA and SOP.
SKILLS:-
- Advanced knowledge of all MS office products: Project, Visio, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
- Superior leadership, planning and organising skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Self motivated and ability to work with minimum guidance
- Planning, staffing, budgeting, organizing, controlling, and communicating
- Ability to work flexible hours
