Main responsibilities :

Role purpose :

- The candidate will be responsible for generating product ideas from consumer insight and prototype development for the Near East Region and should be able to run independently 2-4 project at any time point.

Product Development :

The job holder is responsible for the product development as per consumer insight & Business need as per agreed time line.

The job holder plans and manages projects independently in his/her area.

He/She is responsible for innovation projects (Innovative technology), Patent generation, Competition analysis, cost saving ideas and implementation.

- Coordinates with all important interfaces (see below), plans the resources for the project, monitors the progress of the formulation development and ensures the stability of the same.

- Ensures that all the projects are completed at scheduled timing and provides for appropriate documentation of the end results. The job holder informs his/her superior of the project's progress regularly.

In case of deviations from the initial plan he/she coordinates with the superior in order to decide how to proceed.

Information and knowledge management :

- The job holder ensures the flow of information within his/her area but also to adjacent interfaces and thus creates work efficiency. He/She ensures appropriate documentation of results.

Patents :

The job holder monitors the patent situation in his work area in order to exclude patent infractions by Beiersdorf, prepares his/her own patent applications in order to give Beiersdorf the opportunity to use solely an exclusivity property (POD) as long as possible. He/She ensures patent searches, analysis and interpretation of results, including presentation of alternatives in case of patent infractions and notification of his/her superior

Lab safety :

- The job holder is responsible in consultation with his/her superior that all safety-related aspects of the accident prevention regulations and occupational health and safety standards are complied with in his/her area. He/She initiates necessary training courses.

Interfaces :

- Outside R&D the most important interfaces are with the areas:

- Manufacturing Technologies, Safety Regulatory (QSR, Procurement, external institutions (agencies, CRO, universities, suppliers and other collaboration partners).

Special authority (internal, external): none

Requirements :

- University degree (chemistry, biology, physics, medicine, pharmacy) with a Graduate, Post Graduate or Ph.D. and at least 5-8 years of professional experience.

- In depth knowledge in Emulsions & Surfactants

- Fluent in written and spoken English

- Proficient in MS Office
