The Head - MICE is responsible for the leadership and management of MICE sales and operations teams, driving the MICE strategy for BeenBout. This position will be involved in the development of the MICE segment and new customer relationships. The Head - MICE Sales is to work on approaches to operating activities, product development, technology and asset investments which will provide a point of difference, support growth and sustainable profitable outcomes. This position will train, coach, and continuously develop the country specific MICE Sales staff.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic management and leadership

- Work with the senior management team to develop business plans and budgets that will meet the short and long-term needs of the MICE business.

- Develop a yearly business plan and communicate & cascade goals, targets and action plans to direct reports .

- Arrange monthly meetings to provide feedback to teams on the company's performance and strategic objectives.

Business Development

- Work with relevant teams to develop a sales activity plan to expand customer acquisitions and manage relationships with Event planners and PCOs.

- Work with marketing to coordinate comprehensive sales collateral for relevant sales channels

- Represent BeenBout to State agencies, trade shows, trade partners and networking functions in line with the business requirements.

Financial management

- Accountability for monthly P & L

- Initiate, develop and monitor all cash generation opportunities such as hospitality desks or hotel reps

People management

- Responsibility for recruiting, training and developing all necessary staff, coordinating with HR as required.

- Provide leadership, support and guidance in terms of shared best practices for personal development.

- Monitor and report on performance via annual performance reviews, setting of KPIs and key productivity metrics.

Product and Operations

- Ensure there is an adequate portfolio of product in each destination - guide product managers and MICE sales staff on product to be developed

- Oversee strategic supplier negotiation and contracting to leverage service levels, cost savings and ensuring supplier relationships are being well maintained

- In conjunction with Head of Operations, set and monitor guest satisfaction levels.

Skills and Specifications

- Proven ability to interact effectively with Senior Executives.

- Develop sales strategies, tactics and techniques based on the feedback of the customer and market environment.

- Able to manage effectively a cross-functional team.

- Experience in developing sales strategies and performance metrics.

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

- Leadership ability, entrepreneurial attitude and a good team player.

- Advanced computer program skills like Microsoft Word, Excel and so on.

- Strong training and presentation skills.

- Excellent negotiation and sales skills.

- Able to work under pressure and close deadline.
