Business Development Manager

1. Primary Goal of the role is new business generation

2. Responsibilities of the Role

a. Generating new business and developing new clients for BPO. The job will include both presales and
closure.

b. Lead generation and working to generate a sales pipeline

c. Meeting potential clients, forming & maintaining relationships with prospects

d. Making & delivering presentations (including individually)

e. Discussions/negotiations as needed for the closure of contracts.

f. Contribute to formulation of sales strategy, branding/positioning strategy and lead their implementation.

g. Responsible for ongoing development & maintenance of content & collateral for use in sales & marketing-

h. Ongoing interaction with service delivery teams to create repository of material for use in marketing
collateral (processes, practices, data, photos, videos, stories etc).

i. Development & ongoing maintenance of corporate presentation, capability documentation, company website, proposal template etc.

3. Skills needed

a. Strong communication skills

b. Extensive client interaction and relationship building skills

c. Good articulation and presentation skills

d. Entrepreneurial - Ability to experiment and rapidly prototype solutions

e. Attention to detail - to be able to plug in gaps as and when updates arrive and also to be able to ask relevant questions from the client

f. Logical thought process

4. Qualifications & Experience

a. Should have between 7-8 years of experience in BD/Sales, of which at least significant part needs to be in Business Process Outsourcing / BFSI or publishing sales. Prefer people with some operations experience.

b. Should have experience in selling in a domestic environment, in a B2B environment

c. Should have achieved high sales target; high achiever in lead generation

d. At least an MBA (or someone with seriously impressive work experience)

e. Strong conviction/orientation to social/rural development. Some kind of rural/social sector qualification/exposure would be a plus (e.g. IRMA, IIFM, XIMB).
