JOB DESCRIPTION:
1) New Product Development:
- Ideation, conceptualization, and development of new ice cream products.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitive products.
- Create and refine product formulations to meet taste, texture, and nutritional requirements.
2) Recipe Formulation:
- Develop and optimize ice cream recipes, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and nutritional targets.
- Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients and manage ingredient testing and evaluation.
3) Quality Control:
- Establish and maintain quality standards for ice cream products.
- Conduct sensory evaluations and product testing to ensure consistent quality.
- Address quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
4) Process Optimization:
- Improve manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Work with the production team to scale up recipes and ensure consistent product quality.
5) Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards in the development process.
- Maintain comprehensive records of research, development, and quality control activities.
6) Market Trends and Innovation:
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and consumer preferences.
- Continuously explore innovative ingredients and processes to maintain a competitive edge.
7) Cross-functional work:
- Work in coherence to manage clear timelines and objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, production, and quality assurance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience in new product development and research in the ice cream or frozen dessert industry at least 4 years.
- Male candidates are highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of food chemistry, ingredient functionality, and sensory evaluation.
- Proficiency in laboratory and pilot plant equipment and techniques.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and quality control procedures.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Required work in office, plant, pilot plant environments locally and at vendor or customer facilities as required.
- On call availability as required by operations.
- Occasional travel is required.
