What will you be doing?

Architectures :

- Proficient in architecting solutions across disparate technologies to achieve the complex business objectives of multiple business areas:

- The successful candidate will be an Application Architect who is recognised and respected as subject-matter experts in the Payments domain.

- Breadth and depth of financial services business and applications knowledge;

- Able to thrive in an unstructured, ambiguous environment; adept at varying own styles to influence the optimum outcome and execute on multiple demands simultaneously;

- Ability to think abstractly when required, but also to drill into detail, drawing on significant delivery experience

- Truly understand the business context of the challenges that payments face and distinguish yourself in the way you articulate this with business to create and deliver robust, scalable, elegant, flexible and relevant software solutions that truly transform payments landscape

- Should be resilient in ambiguous situations and can adapt your role in order to approach challenges from multiple perspectives

- Customer Focus

- Anticipates client needs; responds to and follows through on client enquiries, requests and issues:

- Acts as a trusted advisor to the customer on both technical and business issues;

- Provide long term v/s short term solution which gives business customer proposition in terms of MVP and abides by delivery factory.

- Fully understands the customer's products and priorities and maintains a strong cross-functional network;

- Elicits regular feedback from customers and acts on the results.

- Assess business needs and develop the strategy and provide proactive proposals needed to deliver value to Corporate Payments

- Able to influence project / programme stakeholders;

- Able to lead and manage multiple parallel design activities that have competing priorities;

- Act as a trusted advisor to various payment engineering teams by understanding the market and trends that could impact them

- Experienced in working with the design authority for a project and acting as architecture sign-off for project level component deliverables;

- Can identify high-impact, sensitive situations or issues and escalate appropriately;

- Ensures governance, risk and control procedures are followed.

- Ensure security, privacy, and legal compliance across corporate payments applications

What we are looking for:

- Significant technical experience (14+ years) and a thorough understanding of different architectures, tools & languages

- Experience in payment engines like GPP/Volante/Icon/Flexcube

- Experience with languages such as Core Java, Java EE, Python.

- Expertise in technology domains within payments: DevOps, API, Analytics, Cloud adoption and Process Automation;

- Exposure to Micro Services, Event Driven and Reactive Architectures

- Strong Application design and Data management experience;

- Exposure in Integration Technologies - REST, MQ, KAFKA.

- Good Understanding with BigData Technologies: e.g. Hadoop

- Good understanding of Oracle as well as NoSql databases like MongoDB

- Experience in systems integration projects that involve open source technologies and implementation utilising cloud based computing and APIs;

- API Implementation knowledge with OAuth2, JWT, RESTful services, Mulesoft API etc.

- Proficient in architecting solutions across disparate technologies to achieve the complex business objectives of multiple business areas;

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Able to perform code Reviews, code Quality Checks, Application and Database Performance improvements

- Able to conduct POCs with set of new technologies and define benchmarks

- Strong understanding of DevOps Practices with tools : GIT, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube & Veracode

- Proficient in - Agile Implementation Practices: TDD,BDD and DDD with Gerkin/JBehave frameworks

- Good Knowledge of ISO Payment and Cash management formats

- Good Payment Domain Knowledge

- Knowledge of various UK International schemes like FPS, BACS, CHAPS, Target2, SEPA
