JOB ROLE Lead - Cloud Operations

REPORTING TO Vertical Head - IT Security & IT Infrastructure (Core)

TYPE OF ROLE Individual Contributor Role

LOCATION Corporate Office, Mumbai.

BU/ DIVISION Information Technology & Digital

JOB PURPOSE- Always ensure cloud infrastructure and services availability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Deploy, configure, and maintain Azure, AWS-based infrastructure, and services.

- Monitor and optimize Azure and AWS resources to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.

- Collaborate with development teams to automate deployment and management processes using Azure DevOps, AWS containerization or other relevant tools.

- Implement and enforce security measures to protect Azure, AWS resources and data.

- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to Azure, AWS services and infrastructure.

- Stay updated with the latest Azure, Azure services and features, and proactively propose improvements to enhance our cloud infrastructure.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelor's degree

WORK EXPERIENCE : 10+ years of experience in managing overall infrastructure out of that 5+ years on Azure, AWS infrastructure and services.

- CERTIFICATIONS AZURE / AWS

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Three or more years of experience in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms.

- Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a well-architected framework.

- Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics.

- Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject-matter experts.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or mathematics.

- Knowledge of web services, API, REST, and RPC.

PREFERRED/ ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:

- Primary knowledge of on-premises infrastructure.

- Good knowledge on application middleware as IAS

INTERNAL / EXTERNAL INTERFACE:

- IT Vendors

- BU & Function Heads and their Direct Reports

FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES WITH PROF LEVELS:

- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with various Azure services, such as Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Active Directory, and others, AWS RDS, IAM, VPC.

- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform to design, provision, and manage infrastructure resources in a repeatable and automated manner.

- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Ability to monitor AWS resources, configure alerts, and perform troubleshooting to maintain high availability and performance of applications and services.

- Security and Compliance: Understanding of Azure, AWS security best practices, implementing proper access controls, encryption, and compliance measures such as HIPAA or GDPR.

- Networking: Proficiency in configuring and managing virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, security groups, routing tables, and VPN connections.

- Azure Monitoring and Diagnostics: Knowledge of Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Azure Application Insights to effectively monitor, diagnose, and troubleshoot Azure resources and applications.

- Be flexible and open to learning new technologies and methodologies is crucial.

- Strong problem-solving skills are essential for identifying and resolving technical issues and finding efficient solutions to optimize cloud infrastructure and services.

- Cloud administrators work closely with cross-functional teams, such as developers, system administrators, and security professionals. Effective collaboration and communication skills are necessary to ensure seamless integration and cooperation.

- The ability to pay attention to detail is vital when managing and configuring cloud infrastructure. A meticulous approach ensures accuracy, security, and optimal performance.

- Being proactive in identifying potential issues, suggesting improvements, and staying up to date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices demonstrates initiative and drives continuous improvement.
