Assistant Manager Finance


1. Accounting and Claims management :

- Assists in reconciliation of daily accounting transactions, of premiums, collection, claims, refund and conveyance.

- Responsible for booking of the collection, premium, claims, refunds and conveyance entries in the accounting system.

- Monitoring and reconciling all automated entries from the online module with the manual data check points.

- Responsible for month end account closure activities including provisioning.

- Responsible for functional administration of accounting system. It includes creation of master's for new accounts and analysis codes.

2. Reinsurance Requirements :

- Looks after reinsurance accounting for the entire organization.

- Responsible for sharing periodic MIS requirements with the reinsurance team

- Ensuring reinsurance payments are being processed within the guidelines and TAT set by the organization.

- End to end monitoring of reinsurance transactions.

3. Automation Requirements :

- Resolves issues and queries on the functional aspect of the online accounting module.

- Looks after new process developments taking place in the current accounting system.

- Controls the distribution of rights of the Access Control module. These rights pertain to finance and accounting rights like CMS, Taxation, Branch Accounting, Commission, Agents.

4. Statutory Requirements :

- Assists in for filing IRDA returns & public disclosures in a timely manner

- Coordinates with key stakeholders for the entire audit closure for finance and for sharing all requirements of IRDA, internal and statutory auditors.

5. Team development :

- Participate in recruitment process to identify the right talent within the function

- Establish individual performance expectations and regularly review individual performance of the team Identify and create development opportunities for team members to enhance functional knowledge

Skill- Excel Skills, Accounting Background, Analytical Skills, Reinsurance Knowledge

- Good communication skills.

- Flexible & adaptable to change.

- Well versed with MS Office.

- Should have good analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Should be aware of the Local language.

Education & Experience:

Education- Chartered Accounting

Year of experience-5 to 7
