Be part of a team responsible for preparation & review of various accounting policies as per AASB (similar to IFRS)
- AASB (IFRS) Technical expert and should be able to understand and advise on disclosure/ accounting requirements for a diversified financial institution for group consolidated accounts and also for standalone accounts.
- Advise and support various business units & financial reporting teams in accounting of complex transactions as per AASB standards and thereby improving the quality of financial statements.
- Review of policy documents & work papers on complex accounting areas and demonstrate appropriate review, challenge of underlying data so that the robustness of financial information is adequately ensured.
- Conduct training sessions for various business, financial control and group reporting teams on AASB Standards on regular basis.
- Project work on new disclosures implementation, business improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Closely work with Group Financial Reporting teams to assess & advise on various accounting and disclosure requirements.
- Review new product documentation and confirm if the accounting & reporting of new product is appropriate and sufficiently documented.
- Oversight of technical accounting compliance for external and internal reporting.
- Liaison with other industry peers and share best practices on accounting & disclosures.
- Monitor agenda topics from Industry forums and to determine if further investigation is required within Macquarie to ascertain applicability.
- Point of contact and provide assistance to the BU Financial Control teams and CFO.
- Point of contact for two or more of the financial control or central teams (treasury, tax, regulatory reporting, secretariat, etc- )
- Liaison with other internal teams globally
- Liaison with PwC in Gurugram
- Liaison with Sydney key stakeholders
About you:
- You are an experienced person in financial accounting and reporting with exposure to strong AASB (IFRS) technical accounting & advisory skills, ability to understand and evaluate complex products and new transactions with its impact on accounting.
- Experience and understanding of the diversified financial services and banking/trading business and an exposure to accounting technical functional in a Big 4 is an advantage.
We want to hear from you if you have:
- CA or CPA with a Dip in IFRS.
- 10-13 years of post-qualification experience.
- Knowledge of financial products and associated accounting models.
- Willingness to travel overseas
- Willingness to work in different time zones to support clients.
