AVP / VP Procurements (Capital Procurements) for an Ecommerce MNC in Bangalore.

- The Head of Procurement is a senior level position and will build and lead the operations procurement team for both capital and operational supplies procurement.

- This is a high impact role that has potential to create a significant impact on the bottom line by delivering both technical (working with the engineering team to identify value engineering opportunities) and commercial innovation.

- This will include strategic elements like sourcing strategy; spend analysis, value engineering, strategic partnerships, vendor identification and development as well as tactical elements like working with the Operations team on administering the flow of non-inventory goods including warehouse supplies, office supplies, corrugate, safety equipment, tools, and material handling requests.

Responsibilities of the role will include :

- Be the thought leader for the procurement team and drive strategic initiatives to come up with path-breaking ideas for cost rationalization and indigenization.

- Lead the procurement team that will be responsible for both project and FC supplies procurement (multi-million dollar sourcing responsibility) - hire and develop the most capable and most customer centric procurement team in the country

- Establish procurement strategy and sourcing strategy for different spend categories and implementing it to achieve step changes in cost structure Identify, build and develop vendors across categories, especially with a focus on developing partners who can drive indigenization and significant cost savings.

- Identify value engineering and localization opportunities to meet achieve aggressive cost optimization goals. Partner with Engineering and technical teams on the same.

- Establish the process and team for demand identification, procurement, and inventory management of all non-merchandise items required for the operation of the Fulfillment Center.

- Develop and utilize demand forecast models, analytical tools to drive focus areas, develop costing models to enable meaningful negotiations with the vendors.

- Establishing procurement order streams to match supply with demand on a JIT basis through measures like vendor managed inventory.

- Working with Non Inventory Receivers and FC Management to establish organized storage areas and processes for Non-Inventory supplies

- Managing vendors to ensure timely deliveries and quality compliance Develop and utilize metrics to measure operational readiness and procurement performance

- Source and negotiate procurement agreements

- Administer and manage local/national contracts for supplies and service Resolving payment issues with vendors and accounts payable

- Partnering with internal customers to positively influence spending decisions Help manage and control Fixed Costs by driving innovative cost saving solutions

- Develop and implement plans to achieve annual fixed and supply costs savings Interface with other FC PMM's to implement best practices and consistency between buildings

- Help coordinate and establish required legal documentation Issue appropriate Purchase Orders and help manage Capital Authorization Requests (CAR).

Basic Qualifications :

- 12+ years of experience in driving innovation, sourcing and procurement with leading companies in a fast paced, challenging environment.

- Engineer / MBA from a Reputed / Premier institute Demonstrated capability to build and lead a team of high performing individuals.

- Should be currently working as an AVP / VP Procurements (Capital Procurements) in Blue chip FMCG Companies, Infrastructure / Construction, and Logistics.

- Demonstrated capability of driving breakthrough innovations and value engineering initiatives Demonstrated capability of handling complex negotiations

Preferred Qualifications :

- MBA from a Premier Institute.

- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
