Overall purpose of role:
The candidate would be supporting the US HG credit trading team.
Key specific accountabilities:
Conduct Fundamental research in names not covered by Publishing research and recommend fundamental trade ideas
Conduct Relative value analysis (cash/CDS basis, credit vs. Equity etc.) and highlight outliers / provide trade recommendations to the desk
Support desk positioning and risk management
Ownership of existing daily reports which include trader's risk, P&L, Volume Reports, Market Share reports including handling any errors/ exceptions and enhancements
Liaising with IT development teams for enhancement of Market share MIS
Stakeholder management and leadership.
The candidate would have to interact with counterparts in New York. The candidate would have to work with the regional teams to understand the requirements, work with them to develop the new products and work on enhancements.
Decision making and problem solving.
The candidate will have to be proactive in identifying issues and getting them resolved by aliasing with various stakeholders
The candidate needs to work on several time sensitive activities and hence is required to be meticulous and efficient
Risk and Control: All Barclays colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards
Your Skills and Qualifications will include
Engineering Graduate or MBA from good business school
Comprehensive knowledge of Credit Products which includes corporate bonds and Credit Derivatives like Credit Default swaps
Highly analytical and numerate with strong problem solving abilities
Good Excel knowledge including VBA. Programming skills are an added benefit
Excellent communication skills (oral/written)
Strong Analytical Skills
Aptitude for self learning
Proactive in nature
Able to work effectively as part of a large team.
Flexible to work long hours
Well organised with good time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise tasks.
