Position : AVP Legal / Sr Manager - Legal

Experience: 5-12 Years

Educational Requirement: LLB / LLM-Preferable

Basic Purpose

Support Head Legal: in drafting of Production, Distribution and Broadcasting Agreements, legal policies, standardization of documents etc. Regulatory Compliance involving MIB, TRAI, Uplinking & Downlinking Guidelines, License Conditions

Job Roles:

- Responsible for litigation and drafting and vetting of suits, plaints, complaints, written statements, notices, replies to notices, relating to the above mentioned business and advising on and carrying out other remedies available in law in event of disputes.

- Handle matters for recovery of dues and content related issues for and against the company and notices to be sent for or received on behalf of the company, which also includes advising and carrying out dispute resolution measures in event of complaints from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Affairs

- Carrying out all other legal work required for compliance of all media related laws, orders, ordinances, rules, regulations and guidelines including among st others, the Interconnect Regulations relating to the Media and Broadcast industry formulated by TRAI, various guidelines laid down by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and coordination and filings required for ensuring compliance, further interacting and resolving issues with third parties and government agencies

- Drafting, vetting and negotiating contracts regarding new media business like service level agreements, software and hardware license agreements, agreements with operators , platform partners, technology vendors and partners, celebrity agreements, content acquisition and licensing agreements, marketing and PR related agreements, audio cinema business related contracts and general legal advisory regarding the same

- Advising internal clients on the company’s policies to be kept in mind while carrying out business processes and negotiating commercial and business terms on behalf of the company.

- Intellectual Property Rights – registering, protecting and enforcement of trademarks and copyrights and all other required forms of intellectual property

- Provide business functions with strategic advice on regulatory issues. Role includes regulatory advocacy, litigation management, compliance and interface with relevant authorities
