Operational Risk/Risk Framework/Risk Management/Internal Control
Summary: Describe below the primary purpose and function of this job
He/She will be responsible for facilitating the implementation of risk management program for BNY Mellon India Business / Business Partner functions. He/She needs to work with all the Business / Business Partner groups locally and globally to ensure proper implementation of the risk framework.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Key Roles & Responsibilities: List up to 6 key roles and responsibilities of this job. (Percentages must sum to 100%) Percentage of Time
1. Play an active role in the maintenance of the Risk Management Framework (RCSA, KRIs, Risk Event Capture, etc)
- Facilitate implementation of Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) in accordance with the RCSA policy.
- Gather, Assess and Review KRIs on regular basis, ensuring that adequate explanation is provided for Red/Amber KRIs, challenge business on KRIs measuredo are appropriate for current business needs.
- Review Operational Risk Events and challenge business on the appropriateness of root cause / preventive actions. 30%
2. Ensure all Business Process Change (Global footprints / system conversions) are assessed from risk perspective and implement the RCSA/KRI framework to monitor the risks as per the policy 50%
3. Manage the team of Sr. Risk Analyst 10%
4. Preparing dashboards for Sr. Management, Risk Review Forum, Client and Regulator Visits.
5. Conduct Risk Management Framework Training 10%
6. Other duties as assigned including:
- Comply with BNYM corporate policies and procedures, including policies and procedures applicable to BNY Mellon (India)
- Alert management including the Senior Risk Manager for BNY Mellon (India) immediately of any significant changes to business risks and internal control effectiveness.
- Notify management and the Senior Risk Manager for BNY Mellon (India) immediately on discovery of any regulatory breach.

- He/She must be an expert on the subject of Risk Management Framework. The role will require a very good understanding of financial services and all the business in India Operations to challenge them effectively.
- He/She will also require at a high level, good understanding of regulations, information risk, business continuity and records management framework.
- The person should have excellent knowledge of Microsoft office tools.

This role will oversee implementation and adherence of Operational Risk framework across all business and business partner areas. His /her decision and views will be important in ensuring the businesses are adhering to the BNYM Policies and Procedures; and mitigate any emerging risks.
Interactions / Interpersonal Skills: Describe the nature and level of interactions this job has with others, both internally and externally. Explain any specific interpersonal skills necessary to successfully perform this role (i.e., negotiation skills, represents business at external events or to governmental bodies, etc. ).
- He/She will be required to work with all Business and Business Partners while performing risk assessments. In addition he/she will have to work with LoB Risk, Legal Entity Risk and Corporate Risk Management groups across the globe during transformation projects / implementation of risk framework.
- He/She should possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral (public speaking) and written communication skills, analytical skills and relationship management skills.
- Attention to detail, organized approach, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, deadline driven.
- He/She should be self-motivated person and has proven ability to manage and deliver a team's performance.
- The person must also have very good ability and experience to deliver trainings related to Risk Management.
Job Qualifications: Indicate the minimum and preferred education and experience for this job and any licenses and certifications required
Minimum Education: Post-Graduation in Commerce Preferred Education: Chartered Accountancy, FRM, PRM, CFA, Operational Risk Certification
Minimum Experience:
- 8 - 10 years of experience in Internal Control, Risk and / or Audit
- Preferred Experience: Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus
