Role Description - Summary
Working within the Credit group, the candidate will be responsible for delivery of Daily T+1 P&L production for Securitization desk
Responsibilities / Tasks
- Ensure that risk is correctly reported and exceptions escalated promptly
- Perform and review daily Risk, T+1 PnL and MIS production for various Structured Credit desks, including
- PnL compilation.
- PnL analysis and commentary
- New Trade review and investigation
- Liaising with FO and MO on PnL booking matters
- Review daily reconciliations for material and aged breaks
- Review the Balance Sheet for the desks and understand financial exposures.
- Review all PnL adjustments and own their resolution.
- Detailed review of all P&L adjustments with controllers (aging and categorisation), including ownership for resolution.
- Supervision and dissemination of daily PiP Packs
- Current state analysis and re-engineering of PnL processes onto strategic tools
- Be able to drive and co-ordinate strategic initiatives, including UAT.
- Be an instigator of process changes with a view to creating efficiencies.
- Standardisation of PnL reporting processes. Ensuring that proper accounting standards have been use
- Drive L&D initiative for the Team and actively build and review the development plan of Team members
Experience / Exposure:
- 8+ years Product Control experience in Investment Banking or related industry. (preferably Credit background)
- The individual with preferably have experience working in the Product Control/Financial Control/ Trade Services functions of an established financial institution, with a detailed understanding of Credit products and their accounting treatment.
- MS Office skills: MS-Power Point, MS-Access, MS-Excel & thorough knowledge of lookups & pivot tables required, Ability to perform Excel spreadsheet analysis and ability to troubleshoot errors in Access.
- The individual must have a good overview of Global Credit & Global Finance. Must have an appreciation of the revenue drivers and various trading strategies
- Exposure to multiple front office systems.
- Sound knowledge of Greeks is a must.
- Knowledge of US-GAAP/IAS is preferred.
People Management and Supervision
Experience of managing a team preferably 5 +, including:
- Performance appraisal and objective setting.
- Giving constructive feed-back and mentoring more inexperienced staff.
Supervising work performed by others.
