AVP Procurement
Responsibilities:
- Supplier management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, price, and delivery capabilities. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of food and beverage products.
- Contract negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service level agreements. Ensure all contracts comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Vendor performance management: Monitor and assess supplier performance regularly. Establish performance metrics and conduct periodic reviews to ensure suppliers meet quality, delivery, and service expectations.
- Market research and analysis: Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product developments in the food and beverage industry. Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and products that align with the organization needs and goals.
- Cost optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic sourcing, bulk purchasing, supplier consolidation, and negotiation techniques. Implement cost-effective measures without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with other departments, including operations, finance, and quality assurance, to understand their requirements and align procurement activities accordingly. Foster effective communication and collaboration to ensure smooth procurement processes.
- Risk management: Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as supply disruptions, quality issues, and regulatory compliance. Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to minimize the impact of potential risks.
- Compliance and sustainability: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and certifications related to food safety, quality, and sustainability. Promote sustainable procurement practices, including responsible sourcing and waste reduction initiatives.
- Performance reporting: Prepare regular reports and presentations on procurement activities, supplier performance, cost savings, and key metrics. Present findings and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. A masters degree is preferred.
Experience: 12 Years +
- Proven experience in food (Dairy and Chicken)and beverage (Fruit pulp) procurement or a similar role, preferably in a managerial capacity.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies within the food and beverage industry.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations, quality standards, and sustainability initiatives.
- Excellent negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and make informed decisions.
- Proficient in using procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
