MBA from top 20 B-schools. Tier 1 preferred.
So, what will I actually be doing :
Responsible for providing vision and strategy for various communication initiatives and programs and executing that strategy. Sets the strategic communications direction for various business units in support of their efforts to drive employee engagement within their business units, enhance communication across AM, effectively communicate with key stakeholders, and drive awareness and adoption of critical policies and initiatives.
Position will interact with wide variety of individuals and teams across the firm, including business unit and corporate executive leadership.
Essential Functions :
Communication consulting :
Partner with senior executives and support staff and act as an internal communication consultant to select business units; provide counsel, support, and recommendations on overall communication strategy; design and implement tailored, creative, and innovative solutions to complex communication challenges, identifying and acting on key metrics for decision making; anticipate communication gaps and partner across teams to resolve.
Writing and editing :
Write, edit, and distribute clear and compelling communications, including employee announcements and profiles, business success stories, Q&As, policy updates, town hall content, speeches and talking points, surveys, and other communications; develop effective, consistent, and relevant employee messaging in support of business unit goals and priorities, while working to drive employee engagement, productivity, and performance; create communication processes, tools, and templates designed to simplify and streamline communication activities, decrease delivery time, and improve effectiveness of various business-unit messages.
Project management and dissemination :
- Under minimal supervision, oversee mix of small to large-scale communication-related projects, managing deliverables, budgets, timelines, teams, and vendors to ensure expected outcomes are delivered on time and on budget; lead and participate in cross-functional teams to support department and company goals and to enhance the department processes.
- Use communication vehicles and online content management systems to disseminate and deliver messages and information; identify, monitor, and share relevant metrics, such as surveys feedback, page views, and click-thru rates, as needed.
- Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan to advance AM corporate and brand identities; broaden awareness; and increase our visibility
- Create integrated public relations and analyst relations strategies that will allow AM to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences
- Manage our outside agencies to plan, negotiate and monitor vendor performance.
- Identify and attack communications challenges and emerging communications issues faced by the organization.
- Work with our leadership team and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them
Education and Experience :
- MBA/PGDBM in Marketing or a related field is required. Preferably from MICA
- Minimum 4-5 years in a Marketing leadership role
- Demonstrated success with a variety of communications vehicles, including web and traditional product and customer collateral. Outstanding track record of managing large scale projects as evidenced by working with large cross functional groups/managing multiple vendors and completing projects on time/on budget.
- Outstanding verbal communication skills: superior success influencing up, down and across an organization; influencing without authority
- Superior writing skills; including synthesizing multiple business priorities into coherent, relevant and impactful communications/presentations; copywriting/editing
- Excellent researching skills; including probing and fact-finding necessary for public information
- Strong Business acumen and budget management skills and strategic vision
- Successful brand development and brand management experience
