Role : AVP - Government Relations and Policy Advocacy Department ( with a MNC)
Location : Delhi NCR / Mumbai
Job Description :
As a member of the Government Relations and Policy Advocacy Department for India, you will play a pivotal role in shaping policy and legislative strategies that impact Organisation's operations and reputation. Your primary focus will be on the Finance / Human Resources Sector, where you will:
- Proactively develop intelligent insights around legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the Organisation. Advising Organisation leadership on it and helping to manage reputation risks. Have a critical sense of institutional engagements including geopolitical understanding beyond routine expectations.
- Establish credible relationships for a trusted partnership with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, elected representatives, industry trade associations and industry government relations representatives.
- Create opportunity for Organisation leaders' external engagement for thoughtful conversation including scheduling meetings; supporting the development of briefing packs; talking points for meetings and events; and supporting Organisation's participation in conferences/events.
- Support the business development and Organisation positions and strategies regarding key business topics and policy issues, developing a thought leadership strategy towards political stakeholders for the Organisation. Support the business to build strategic relationships that align to market positions.
Preferred Profile:
- An individual player who can work independently - while being sensitive to the team's vision, philosophy and direction
- An excellent understanding of technology essentially digital platforms and its transformational aspects for overall economic value chain hence creating an ecosystem conducive for technology integration.
- You are someone who has relevant work experience in identifying key public policy issues preferably in the finance domain, including senior policy-making role with experience in hands-on policy design and the process of getting policies approved and implemented through complex executive and legislative processes and political systems. In this regard following attributes are essential yet not exhaustive:
- Experience in engaging directly senior government officials (ministerial level) specifically departments of Ministry of Finance (including all its divisions/departments), Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
- Good exposure, deep understanding and reliable connects with autonomous institutions-NCLAT, RBI, SEBI, ED, GST Commissionerate, Competition Commission of India, Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, Indian Institute of Finance, Indian Institute of Chartered Accountant, Niti Ayog,
- Understanding and exposure to Parliamentary Standing Committee on finance and Economic Affairs. Office of Chief Economic Advisor, Financial Budget, Economic Survey.
- Good knowledge of Govt Flagship Scheme-Digital India, MyGov, federal structure of taxes, Free Trade Agreement, WTO etc
Educational Qualification / Work Experience:
1. MBA / PGDM / Post Graduate Economics / Chartered Accountant / Company Secretary with work experience between 10-12 years dealing with Various Government Agencies / Department
2. Strong in Building Relationships & Ability to Work with Senior Government Officials.
3. Good Research Skills.
