Looking to hire a AVP- Financial reporting - IFRS
Qualified Accountant is a must - CA, CPA or CIMA (UK)
Post Qualification : 12 to 20 Years - AVP - Financial Reporting - IFRS
Location : Chennai
- Lead the IFRS 9 project implementation at Chennai and includes management and tracking of the overall IFRS 9 programme plans, milestones and progress.
- Ensure project level risks, issues and their mitigants and their resolution are documented reviewed and monitored consistently across the work streams
- Enable collaboration across project team and stakeholders; identify inter-dependencies between work streams and other projects.
- Upon implementation of IFRS 9, be the first point in Finance for understanding the PIP, drivers of change and links back to reported results and the trends in countries.
- Engagement in scoping out the requirements with respect to IFRS 9 and delivering a plan to execute the same
- Engagement with Data source/ Risk team / reporting infrastructure owners on quarterly reporting process / adjustments to the financial results.
- Responsible for reviewing and updating risks and issues relevant to their IFRS reporting schedules impacted by IFRS 9
- Engage with IFRS process standardization / automation team to co-pilot automation of IFRS schedules that have IFRS 9 impact
- Ensuring accuracy of financial numbers and key performance indicators and liaison with Group Financial reporting team to improve reporting process.
- Build and maintain effective control environment within the project to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Work with Group Financial System (GFS) team, risk and technology to provide functional clarifications relevant to system changes based on source attributes based on business process.
- Transition the IFRS 9 reporting requirement from the project to Business As Usual (BAU) status.
- Keep abreast of new developments in IFRS/ Capital reporting from the EBA, assessing the impact and ensuring timely implementation
- Qualified Accountant is a must : CA, CPA or CIMA (UK)
- 7 to 20 plus years post qualification work experience with experience of managing large implementation projects in Finance including IFRS Transition in a large international bank is preferred or having experience in a IFRS Financial Reporting role preferably in a Financial services industry.
Skills ( Functional ) :
- Advanced knowledge of IFRS reporting standards and practices
- Extensive working experience in different financial and accounting systems
- Experience of working in a global financial services organisation in a matrixed environment.
- Good understanding of Banking products and services
- SOX and internal controls experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft desktop software (excel, word, access, etc), data mining skills.
- Ability to plan and manage data requirement for analysis and reporting.
Skills ( Behavioural ) :
- Strong leadership, relationship building and influencing skills and experience of working with top levels of management.
- Strong collaboration ability to ensure Finance and Risk as a whole work together closely on the implementation of this multi-year complex project.
- Manage the project team with perseverance to manage the tight project implementation deadline
- Excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrates integrity and professionalism, with the intent to do the right thing at all times
- Ability to multitask and prioritize diverse tasks.
- Excellent project managerial skills and ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight time-frames and simultaneously manage several projects required.
- Leadership experience in organizing, planning and executing projects from conceptualization through implementation across multiple internal and external reporting and organizational lines.
- Strategic thinking and leadership experience with an emphasis on relationship management and communication at all levels within an organization.

Key Measures :
- Seamless transition of all Financial Reporting processes as per project timelines.
- Seamless transition of the IFRS 9 reporting requirement from the project to FR teams
- Build and maintain effective control environment within the project to ensure data accuracy and completeness leading to Nil surprise.
