Overall purpose of role :
The primary purpose of this role is to lead and deliver IFRS9 delivery for the Corporate and the Investment Bank. This will include impairment and classification and measurement work stream including implementation of the new standard for the local entity reporting where applicable.
Key Accountabilities :
- Supporting the quarterly reporting process to ensure the appropriate level of information is captured to comply with all external and internal reporting requirements.
- Assisting with design and implementation of new financial control and reporting process which meets the relevant requirements of the standard.
- Supporting the migration of the loan book to the new system and the impairment calculations and testing of the system
- The role holder will support the UAT testing of new systems (general ledger & upstream) for the changes arising on accounting change.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership :
- Liaise with external and internal auditors to support the external reporting process
- Partner with the Legal Entity controller teams to provide guidance and assistance on parallel reporting
- Develop strong working relationships across Finance, Risk and Technology to ensure alignment of priorities and to influence change/improvement

Decision-making and Problem Solving:
- Review and challenge of data inputs from a number of complex and dynamic data sources

Person Specification:
- Personal attributes essential to performing role including competencies, expertise, knowledge, and experience. Note: experience requirements must not be in the form of years (minimum or otherwise).
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant - ACA, CIMA, ACCA
- Strong academic background - 1st /2nd class honours, minimum bachelor degree from a reputable institution
- Post qualification experience
- Experience in a month-end or quarter-end focused reporting role
- Knowledge and understanding of the key accounting principles under IFRS
- Experience with transformation, project delivery and change management processes.
- Ability to interact with senior staff across multiple jurisdictions in multiple functions
- Strong controls mindset
- Ability to build strong partnerships across the business with excellent stakeholder management
- Analytical and problem solving skills with ability to think outside the box.
