Position Title: AVP Accounting & Reporting, Ceded Reinsurance
Location: London / Canada Toronto (WFH) / INDIA ( GURGAON, NOIDA, BANGALORE)
Job Summary/ Job Opportunity:
- This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional Accounting & Reporting in the Ceded Reinsurance Domain.
- In this role, you would be responsible to manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits.
- Additionally, also manage the cash allocation, intercompany transactions, closing of accounts and
preparation of reports in support of the financial statements related to P& C Reinsurance. Further, role requires such person to make sure adequate internal controls are in place observations from SOX team.
Key Objectives and Major Responsibilities:
- Managing team and client delivery.
- Managing all aspects of Ceded Reinsurance accounting operations, this includes the calculations/preparation/booking of reinsurance premiums, commissions and losses/recoveries related journal entries into general ledger, financial reporting and cash clearing and Intercompany settlements.
- Effectively reconciling all reinsurance activity (Premium, commission & recoveries related accounts)
- Working alongside Outward reinsurance placement & operations team to review complex reinsurance transactions from an accounting perspective.
- Provide automation recommendations & implementation to streamline the manual processes.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with existing clients.
- Managing the transition process of new clients.
- Coordinating/working with business development team on business expansion projects.
- Participating in prospective client calls.
- Ensure relevant internal controls are present.
- Ensure no major observations from SOX compliance.
- Understanding of overall insurance and reinsurance life cycle
- Understanding of reinsurance treaties, how they work and how computations are done

Note: Client is based out of UK/Bermuda location
Key Capabilities and Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills.
- End to end knowledge of Insurance & Reinsurance accounting and reporting.
- Team handling experience and exposure of working with international clients.
- Flexibility to work as an individual contributor wherever required.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Advance excel knowledge with hands on Power BI, Power Query, Alteryx, MS Access etc. is an added advantage.
Qualification and Experience:
- 15+ Years of relevant exposure in accounting, financial and regulatory reporting.
- CA/CPA/ACCA
