About Employee Relations (Human Resources)
The Employee Relations Centre of Excellence is responsible for :
- Providing specialist advice and guidance on Disciplinary, Capability and Grievance cases and ER issues, and leading complex case management with business managers
- Developing and implementing ER tools and collateral
- Leading, advising and supporting business managers with the application of ER strategy and policies
- Facilitating knowledge and skills transfer to HRBPs and Line Managers through developing and delivering training sessions
- Overseeing, advising and implementing special projects including organisational change initiatives (including redundancy, reorganization, in sourcing and outsourcing)
- Producing MI data and trend analysis for key stakeholders
- Understanding changes to legislation and incorporate into ER policies as necessary
- Annual review and re-draft of ER owned policies
- Support ad hoc ER initiatives (as necessary) for example deployment of Outplacement Support Services pan India
The individual will provide specialist advice and coaching to HRBPs and Line Managers and resolve D,C&G cases, and lead complex case management with business managers.
Key areas include :
- Investigations and suspensions
- Disciplinary processes (misconduct and gross misconduct)
- Capability processes (including Performance Improvement Plans and Attendance Improvement Plans)
- Complaints and Grievance processes
- Sickness Management
- Prevention of Sexual Harassment
- Responsible for managing whistleblower complaints, executive complaints and sensitive investigations in partnership with relevant stakeholders across the group
Change Management and Restructuring Programmes :
Work with ER Lead and business leaders to implement special projects within the geographic region including organisational change initiatives. In particular, this will involve providing specialist advice to HRBPs and Line Managers from assigned business areas on change and restructuring programmes, and contractual changes.
Key areas include :
- Legislative requirements
- Change management governance and process control
- Execution of specific change projects:
- Preparation of business case and rationale
- Stakeholder engagement
- Selection and benchmarking processes
- Employee communications
- Quality assurance
ER Policies, Processes and Collateral :
Lead, advise and support business managers in the application of ER strategy and policies within the relevant geographic region. Develop, review, refresh and implement ER policies and collateral to ensure accuracy and compliance with current employment legislation and market practice.
Knowledge Transfer :
Develop and deliver ER training workshops to up-skill HRBPs and Line Managers to build knowledge and increase capability, and to minimize and mitigate ER risk. Ensuring continuous capability building for HR Business Partner and Line managers to empower them to manage people issues effectively
Risk and Governance :
Provide ER advice and guidance in relation to :
- Advising on operational employment law, its application and legal risk
- Developing control systems to mitigate risks
- Representing ER at pan-India Forums and Committees
- Providing Management Information (MI) data and reporting, including maintaining and updating trackers, databases & intranet
- Work closely with internal risk and governance to ensure risk events are closed on time and effective controls are in place.
MI and Reports :
Provide monthly update / reports to various stakeholders and group ER team(s)
Person Specification :
- Ideally, the candidate will have experience delivering high quality HR support to a sophisticated and commercially focused blue-chip client base, preferably within financial services, investment management or professional services sectors.
- The candidate must have experience either working in an ER team or as an HRBP/HR Advisor with direct hands-on ER experience.
- The candidate will be able to demonstrate practical depth in the core areas of ER and be able to quickly apply a combination of technical and commercial thinking to any business issue arising.
- In addition, the candidate will have a track record of operating within the direct ER and wider business environment and the experience to assume responsibility for a portfolio of complex and/or high profile ER cases.
- The incumbent will also be able to demonstrate competence in Indian employment law.
- The candidate should be action orientated with a focus on continuous improvement in all areas of their work, with an ability to work effectively within a global team. Known for their high energy, productivity and professionalism, they should be able to deliver quality results with a challenging but positive and influential style.
