Business Continuity - Job Description

Kolkata Based role

Role Objective :

The resource will provide the overall direction for developing, implementing and maintaining a robust Business Continuity program for the Bank. A key responsibility of the incumbent is to develop and implement strategies to ensure that the Bank is prepared, resilient and ready for events that could disrupt or impact critical business processes. Position responsibilities include but not limit to identifying, documenting and testing business needs against Bandhan Bank's infrastructure and identifying recovery strategies.

Roles and Responsibilities :

- Contribute towards the formulation of continuity strategy, plans, policies and procedures to support departmental and organizational business continuity approach.

- Work with functional areas to develop and maintain department-level recovery strategies.

- Oversee to ensure that the Business Continuity processes within Bank are operating effectively and efficiently toward achieving high operating standards.

- Knowledge of methods to be used in performing risk analyses (RA) and business impact analyses (BIA)

- Contribute towards and manage the implementation of Business Continuity projects to ensure that objectives, schedules and budgets are met.

- Work closely with the Head Operational Risk in BCM budgeting process.

- Responsible for and to guide the management and business units in ensuring that the Bank is capable to continue its services in emergency situations.

- Liaise with other divisions/ departments for the identification of personnel assigned to BCM related responsibilities and continually interacting with the respective personnel for driving BCM related test plans, obtaining and analyzing test results etc.

- Coordinate and manage active participation in disaster recovery (DR) activities such as identifying recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO), analyzing critical applications, coordinating with ITD on DR drills, and ensuring appropriate governance.

- Oversee /review to ensure that the work of internal divisions/ departments/ units is least impacted due to unforeseen disaster/ crises events through the establishment and implementation of a robust BCM program for the bank

- Undertake the ownership of Business Continuity Alternative site to ensure the site is adequately managed to carry out critical activities in case of a BCP situation.

- Oversee to ensure that Business impact analysis (BIA) and risk assessments are in place for critical processes in the Bank.

- Incumbent will lead business continuity presentations, status updates to CXO level through steering committee meetings and other official forums

Desired Qualification, Experience & Skills Required :

- University degree with any related discipline.

- 08-10 years of total experience in financial services/banking industry, entailing responsibilities pertaining to the specific area of discipline.

- Working Knowledge and understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery planning techniques, technologies and best practices

- Certified Business Continuity Planner (CBCP) or Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI) would be desirable
