Looking for candidate for the role of AVP- Direct Taxation with the Financial Services arm of a large India Conglomerate.  Purpose of the job-To lead the Corporate Taxation Vertical at the organization and across the co's within financial services group and to ensure compliance with the statutory and regulatory laws.  Key Responsibilities :   a. Lead the Corporate Taxation department for Direct Taxes for all group companies under the financial services group  b. Adherence to relevant Acts and Statues  c. Providing guidance to the co's under financial services group on tax related matters  d. Ensure timeliness and correctness in Tax payments and TDS returns and issuance of TDS Certificates  e. Preparation of Advance Tax estimates and reporting to the management along with all tax balances  f. Preparation of Computation of Income and filing of Annual Income Tax returns for all companies under the group within the stipulated timelines  g. Attending tax related matters, assessment proceedings, filing appeals and ensuring taxes are paid as per the prevailing laws   h. Analysis of transactions with respect to Domestic Transfer Pricing on regular basis   i. Preparation of paper book for submission before CIT(A) and ITAT  j. Monthly reporting of Tax issues and status to top management   k. Following up for Income Tax refunds, rectifications, appeal effects, etc.  l. Assist in finalizing the tax computation and provisions quarterly  m. Getting the tax audits done within the stipulated timelines   n. Drive process improvements by introducing automation wherever possible  o. Monthly meeting with businesses to resolve the critical and pending tax issues and update the progress of tax cases pending at various Appellate levels  p. Analysis of the changes in laws, regulations, accounting principles, judicial pronouncements and interpret its tax implications for all the companies in financial services group.  Handling ITO's for assessment and other related matters.Resolving Tax Queries and liaison with IT Office bearers.  Experience-8-12 years of experience in handling the taxation department of a national / multinational financial institution.  Technical Competencies-- Understanding of Financial Services Business  - Excellent knowledge of Direct Taxation  - Knowledge of DTAA will be an added advantage  - Flair for process improvements and automation  Qualification - CA preferably first attempt qualified, Must have worked in Big Four and in Corporate managing the Direct Tax function.
