Data Governance & Control - AVP

A leading investment bank is hiring for Mumbai location.

Responsibilities Include:

- Reviewing, monitoring, and improving data related control reports, highlighting exceptions, and ensuring accurate alerts

- Managing and providing oversight to KPI/KRI reporting

- Managing escalations, resolving issues, and implementing necessary control checks to improve processes

- Documenting and tracking takeaways from various data governance meetings to ensure execution on relevant action items

- Supporting and implementing strategic data governance related projects

- Developing business requirements and procedures for strategic initiatives

- Support the creation of management level presentations for strategic and tactical data initiatives

- Creating internal efficiencies for how data is used within ISG, including building new processes, functionality, and systems

- Engaging global ISG Business Unit Risk Management (BURM) to focus on and deliver increased automation and standardization across applicable processes

- Improving and monitoring existing data related control frameworks and creating new control frameworks where necessary

- Identifying opportunities for process efficiencies and implementing corresponding solutions internally and externally

- Performing quality assurance on internal team contributions, highlighting issues, and working on remediation

- Establishing relationships and working closely with IDG supervisors, ISG BURM, Technology, Operations, Finance, and Compliance.

Experience / Skills Required:

- Chartered Accountant or MBA

- 08+ years of experience in the financial services industry

- Ability to identify and escalate issues effectively and appropriately

- Strong project management skills and proven ability to move projects through to completion, ideally within capital markets

- Strong motivation and a self-starter with a positive outlook and desire to solve problems with an ability to work independently with minimal guidance

- Strong analytical skills with an ability to understand complex workflows and leverage Excel, PPT, Project, Visio, etc.

- Solid understanding of applicable regulatory rules and regulations

- Ability to identify and escalate issues effectively and appropriately

- Exceptional organizational skills and a high degree of attention to detail

- Excellent oral and written communication

- An ability to clearly articulate objectives, requirements, risks, and issues

- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and effective manner and thrive in a fast-paced environment

- Understanding of various market products e.g Equities, FID, derivatives

- An ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment
