AVP - Credit Distressed Debt Trading - Credit Research


Key Accountabilities:

- Provide analytical support to the US & EU Special situations desks

- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of company financials including covenants, ability to make financial projections for obligors under distressed situations

- Track and maintain updates on company financials using credit templates and accordingly provide regular coverage to the desks

- Take ownership of desk reporting activities and adhoc analytical requirements wherever required

Stakeholder Management and Leadership:

- This is a high-profile front office position which requires the candidate to work closely with the Trading desks in New York & London.

- The candidate is also expected to work with other trading teams in New York and London wherever required.

Decision-making and Problem Solving:

- The candidate will need to be highly proactive in identifying issues and getting them resolved by liaising with various stakeholders

- The candidate will need to work on several time-sensitive activities and is therefore required to be meticulous and efficient

- The candidate should have an excellent eye for detail and should ensure that he/she meets a zero error tolerance requirement as most output forms a critical input for business decision making

Person Specification:

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

- CA/ CFA / MBA or any other education in Finance or Economics

- 4 to 7 years of experience in credit analysis, preferably covering distressed corporates across US & EU markets

- Knowledge and understanding of Company Financial Statements, Covenents, Cash Flow analysis

- Understanding of company capital structure, knowledge of credit instruments like bonds, loans, etc

- Ability to make Financial projections & Budget

- Experience of quantitative analysis of market data and strong analytical skills

- Knowledge of Advanced Excel

- Excellent communication skills (oral/written)

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

- Good understanding of Financial markets with focus on fixed income.

- Aptitude for self-learning - Should be able to demonstrate a self-starting attitude

- Flexible to work long hours (when required), meet deadlines and be proactive

- Ability to prioritize and manage large projects and take full ownership of assigned tasks.

- Proactive in nature. Should be able to take decisions and support those.

- Should demonstrate leadership skills
