Overall purpose of role
The Institutional Corporate Marketing Desk seeks to increase the overall quantity and quality of corporate and investor interactions. The team interfaces with multiple constituencies within the Firm, i.e. Sales and Trading, Research, Syndicate and Banking, as well as external, i.e. investment community and corporate clients. The individual will work as an integral part of the ICM team.
Key Accountabilities :
- The analyst will work closely with sector specialists who focus on specific sectors and are responsible for all corporate access activity related to each sector, including but not limited to, roadshows, conferences, field trips and special events.
- Prepare marketing materials, including (but not limited to) pitch books/presentations, shareholder analysis, bespoke trip layouts and feedback documents for corporate clients.
- Presentations - being able to execute on a vision and being able to understand what needs to be conveyed with the document including all data sets and being able to help guide on the best way to present it. More collaborative than reactive.
- Helping to build a dynamic investor data base pulling from internal resources as well as gathering information from external data bases as well to help with pitches, and shareholder targeting exercises.
- Communicate with various business units within the bank to obtain market intelligence, maintain connectivity and gather content regarding the markets and the sectors.
- Both of the above may often be on short notice and an iterative process within a short period of time.
- Build a strong working relationship and gain an understanding of the institutional investment community through interaction with sector specialists, research analysts, salespeople, sales-traders, traders, buy-side customers, investment banking capital markets, and corporate teams.
- Ability to adjust work hours for regular overlap with NY hours (till noon EST).
Stakeholder Management and Leadership :
- High level of interactions are required with various stakeholders, traders, sales etc and the role requires someone who can effectively communicate and present ideas to stakeholders/teams in a different location and time zone.
Decision-making and Problem Solving :
This role requires the candidate to have good decision making skills as they will be required to gather and interpret data and then present it meaningfully to stakeholders. The data and analysis required varies depending on the purpose of the request and hence the candidate will be required to use judgement and knowledge to pull out the relevant data and present them appropriately
Risk and Control Objective :
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Policies and Policy Standards.
Person Specification :
- Team player mentality with the ability to develop relationships across a broad range of constituencies
- Strong knowledge and aptitude for understanding the markets, companies, financial statements, valuations and investment fundamentals.
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and make sound business judgments.
- Demonstrate superior verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multiple constituencies both internally and externally (e.g. Research, Investment banking, Sales & C-Suite executives)
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- Master's degree from premier institutes
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Advanced knowledge of excel, powerpoint, presbuilder and word
- Good knowledge of financial concepts and markets
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of various databases like Factset, Bloomberg, etc
- A good understanding of the securities regulations in the US
