Purpose of the Role:

Ensure compliance for the Bank's business division(s), product line, and operational system. Communicate, coordinate and monitor regulatory compliance policies, systems and procedures, provide relevant and timely Compliance Advisories and participate in and conduct audits/testing. Structure and implement efficient and effective compliance programs and functioning systems of internal control under the supervision of a Compliance Manager and in coordination with Regional Compliance team.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategic:

- Drive and support high standards of core compliance framework through the ongoing delivery of an organized and structured Core Compliance Program.


- Develop balanced solutions to support first line of defense while ensuring that key compliance risks and regulatory requirements are addressed.


- Demonstrate commitment to train, educate, and challenge all subordinates by cultivating professional development of team players while ensuring all employees have completed mandatory training requirements.


- Effectively delegate workload to ensure all staff members are utilized to their fullest capacity.

Financial:

- Develop and execute solutions that support business strategies while enhancing our ability to monitor and manage risks in any environment; continuously learn from the past to drive our direction in the future.


- To support the teams in their new product review and advise from regulatory perspective.


- To develop various MIS for Compliance team and monitor compliance activities.


- To ensure Simplification and digitization of Compliance Process.

Customer:

- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both within MUFG and externally.


- Work in close collaboration with various departments and colleagues located within and outside India, to ensure due compliance of applicable norms.


- Maintain cordial and professional relations with external authorities including RBI, IBA, FEDAI, FIMMDA and other regulatory, quasi-regulatory and self-regulatory organizations and entities.


- Demonstrate leadership and commitment in identification, detection and remediation of compliance gaps and risks.

People:

- Connect beyond your team and leverage our global strength as One MUFG. - Provide support to local business and serve as trusted advisors whilst ensuring adherence to all Global / local Compliance requirements and the prevailing Regulations.


- Advisor for New Delhi and Neemrana Branch, Chennai Branch and Business Units and teams like Japanese Corporate Banking, Transaction Banking Department , GSB, Credit Risk Management Department, General Administration, Legal, Operations and other areas assigned by Compliance Officer.

Other/Control:

- Ongoing delivery of an organized and structured Compliance Program including the Compliance Risk Assessment and Management Information, process reviews, rollout of policies and training. - Active contribution to the implementation of the global core compliance enhancement program (CCEP) within a branch environment by diligently following Regulatory Change Management, Regulatory Engagement policies, Regulatory Reporting Policy.


- Promoting risk evaluation, mitigation, and management consistent with policies and standards and through coordination and engagement of the first line of defense.


- Assist the first line of defence on Regulatory reporting such as timelines, interpretation, repository etc.as part of 3R Project. - As part of Business engagements, apprise the teams about regulatory changes and understand their concerns if any with respect to actionable, interpretation, etc.


- Advise first line of defense on how existing controls can be enhanced during regulatory areas review. To conduct Collaborative engagement meetings and necessary action in timely manner.


- Provide trainings on Regulatory Change Management and Regulatory Reporting policy to first line of defense and sensitize them about the process to be followed. - Also, advise on various regulatory related queries raised by other department post discussion with seniors.

Expertise / knowledge required:

- Strong PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).


- Good stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments.


- Strong knowledge of Compliance issue and local financial regulations.


- Good communication skills.
