Role Purpose

- Commercial Planning - Develop commercial plans to deliver service strategy and business objectives as well as maintain the contract renewal schedule

- Contract Negotiation - Assist with the negotiation of the service aspects of vendor contracts

- Financial Management - Support Core Networks Service Managers and Finance to manage budgets and resolve any issues arising with supplier billing

- Commercial Support - Provide pre-contract vendor engagement and in-contract commercial support to service and support teams to ensure effective delivery of vendor contracts and resolution of supplier payment issues

Key Accountabilities

- Key Specific Accountabilities

Develop and execute agreed commercial plans for Core Networks vendors in conjunction with business and service requirements and technology roadmaps

Develop strategies working with the relevant stakeholders to maximize the value of 3rd party service provision to Core Networks and Barclays

Develop high level business cases, working with the relevant stakeholders to articulate business requirements and translate them into deliverable plans, including financial costs and benefits

Work with finance to secure funding to deliver Product Roadmaps and maintain the lifecycle management of the Core Networks vendors and contracts

Support BAU finance management by providing an interface between finance and service managers to raise and resolve budget and billing issues

Co-ordination and tracking of vendor financial management ensuring delivery against financial commitments and business plans.

Support the negotiation and on-going management of Core Networks contracts through the full contract lifecycle.

In conjunction with Core Networks Product and Service Managers and clients, define specific vendor service requirements, performance standards and key success criteria for input into vendor contracts.

Ensure effective asset, risk and compliance management is an integral part of Core Networks vendor contracts in line with Audit, CIGLS, Control Framework, ITSCM and other relevant Regulatory requirements

- Stakeholder Management and Leadership.

Strong communication skills to enable building of effective relationships across teams within Barclays, key stakeholders and also suppliers.

Adhere to financial plans, processes and commitments made by Core Networks

Provide input to the recruitment of resources required to meet future demands for delivering against planned goals and objectives of Infrastructure

Undertake work outside of direct responsibility when required on behalf of the Core Network Leadership Team

Represent Core Networks both internally and externally to the Barclays Group.

- Decision Making and Problem Solving.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to assimilate large amounts of complex business data to reach objective decisions swiftly, honestly, assertively and constructively.

Experience of managing complex technology contracts within a Financial Services or similar environment

Person Specification

Essential:

- Extensive knowledge of analytic techniques and methods

- Core understanding of financial management principles

- Core understanding of how to define, document and embed processes

- Experience within a customer service environment

- Evidence of working with varying levels of stakeholders (internal / external and different grades)

- Experience within a supplier environment and has an understanding of the importance of managing suppliers

- Evidence of organisational skills and the ability to multi-task whilst ensuring quality and attention to detail

- Experience within a customer service environment

Preferable:

- Evidence of driving suppliers to deliver service improvements or change programmes to improve overall supplier performance and achieve business objectives.

- Experience of end to end vendor payment lifecycle and issue resolution (purchase order, invoicing, payment)

- Experience of contract planning, renewal and supplier management best practices

- Awareness of LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies to apply to existing processes to facilitate continual process improvement

- Organisational awareness and understanding of how service stability can be maximised through leveraging technology and process.

- Knowledge of IT structure and functions within Barclays and the services and product set we offer

- Core understanding of both Barclays & IS strategy, design and business direction.

- Basic knowledge of business change processes, methods and tools.

- Core understanding of service and supplier management processes and methods.

- Core understanding of acceptance and integration process and methods.

- Core understanding of Project and Change Management Processes.

- Awareness of risk and governance, including supplier governance
