Role Description :

Reporting to the Adoptions Manager for Instrument Adoptions, being the first point of contact for potential consumers. Work in conjunction with the Adoptions Project Manager to perform attribute and instrument coverage checks to onboard consumers to the strategic mastering platform. Assist with all queries and tasks from inception through to production go live.

Play a key role in transformation by identifying and implementing necessary changes to enable the business in order to perform to its optimum ability. Role would require collaboration at multiple levels with various business leads, infrastructure functions and other support groups

The Reference Data Program is a strategic & foundational initiative which aims to be the single golden source for the bank. It spans across Front Office, Operations and IT.

RDS is comprised of four data classes :

Instrument : Delivers a golden source instrument reference data platform to maintain Equities, Index and ETF, Listed Derivatives, Fixed Income, Holiday calendar and Restricted List data

Book : Delivers a centrally managed GM wide cross functional book hierarchy to align the Flash, T+1 P&L, Business MI, financials & risk reporting

Product : Delivers accurate, reliable and timely product types to all relevant consumers (systems and people) by creating a golden store of product classifications with pertinent attributes

Party : Delivers a platform to serve as a golden source of the firm's Party level data, maintain Client data, model a Client's business relationships, manage Client Accounts and maintain Issuer, Broker, and other Party roles

Main Responsibilities :

- Responsible for the business / Data analysis of multiple concurrent adoption projects from initiation through to delivery

- Perform attribute and instrument coverage checks (by use of market identifiers such as ISIN, Sedol etc) against business requirements, highlighting key gaps and data breaks using SQL to interrogate multiple tables

- Assist consumer queries across data and technical consumption methods (SQL and JMS/XML Messages)

- Data analysis and comparison of different data sources and models to assist consumers in moving from legacy to strategic platform

- Raise technical defects and work with CTB and development teams to priortise for deployment, communicate back to consumer and assist with any testing if required

- Understanding of varying data and delivery needs across different areas of the bank - FO Trading, Post Trade, Compliance, Risk, Finance etc

- Detailed analysis and modelling of current processes, data flows and actual data attributes and coverage

- Reconciliation of current services against new, ability to identify gaps explain and resolve where appropriate

- Act as interface between CTB, Delivery, SM and Consumers to ensure smooth adoption execution.

- Play key role in providing clear definition and maintenance of RDS global service catalogue that meets the needs of our new consumers. Ensure in-depth Business understanding of their expectations and usage from our service.

- Ensure appropriate pro-active, regular communication with all internal and external stakeholders

- Review existing processes, resources, systems and explore new possibilities.

- Oversee all areas of a business and play a key role in implementing any operational changes and delivering measurable improvements. Design and implement strategies to ensure continuous process improvement.

- Understand and align the transformation strategy as per larger bank wide strategy and objectives.

- Work closely and bridge any gap between the stakeholders and maintain strong communication across all aspects of the project. Implement any changes sensitively and with minimal disruption.

- Utilises industry knowledge and experience in applying business processes and policies and ensure being abreast of various regulatory changes impacting the business.

Experience/Background :

- 9+ years of experience in investment Banking, specially in Reference Data Services with good product knowledge of at least of the asset classes like Fixed Income, Equities, Listed Derivatives and Index/ETF

- Working knowledge of Reuters / Bloomberg

- Project Management, communication and Implementation skills. Scope and Requirement gathering, Risk & issue Management skills. Project Management Methods and Tools experience System Development Lifecycle, Strong understanding of SQL, XML distribution methods

- Good understanding of operational risk and performance and familiarity with regulatory requirements affecting investment banking.

- Ability to plan and organise workload, taking into account relative priorities

- Ability to work accurately under pressure to tight deadlines
